Roy D. Blunt, born January 10, 1950 (age 73), is the senior Republican United States Senator from Missouri, having defeated State Secretary of State Robin Carnahan by a 54%-41% margin. Previously he served as a U.S. Representative from Missouri's 7th congressional district and was House Republican whip from 2003–2009. He briefly served as House Majority Leader. Blunt is the father of former Missouri Governor Matt Blunt.
