Thomas Jeffery Cole (born April 28, 1949) is the U.S. representative for Oklahoma's 4th congressional district, serving since 2003. He is a member of the Republican Party and serves as Deputy Minority Whip. Tom Cole is the former Secretary of State of Oklahoma from 1995 to 1999. Cole is a member of the Chickasaw Nation, Cole is one of four Native Americans in Congress who are enrolled tribal members. Cole became the longest-serving Native American in the history of Congress.[1]
Tenure
Cole was of forty-nine Republicans who voted to repeal AUMF against Iraq.[2] He is one of 129 Republicans who voted for $40 billion aid to Ukraine.[3]
In November 2023, Representative Cole joined sixty-nine other Republicans to vote to establish a new $300 million building to house the FBI, despite reservations raised by conservatives about the fairness of the agency.[4]
Tom Cole voted with 105 Republicans to expel George Santos.[5]
