l'me 'splain. Russia has Naval Infantry, which is akin to US Marines. The Pacific Naval Infantry are already deployed to Ukraine. So in the event of war with NATO, Russia's Far East is exposed to invasion from the US, Canada, and Japan. Hence North Koreans are picking up the slack on Russia's Far Eastern coast under a mutual defense agreement.

The Russian military is not anything like the US military. It's really more like NATO, made of troops from Russia's 89 federal subjects under mutual defense obligations. The primary military units tasked with defending the Donbas are the Donetsk & Lugansk Republics, which receive assistance from Moscow, Chechnya, Bashkortostan, Tuva, Vladivostok, etc., as well as private military companies like the Wagner group (modeled after Blackwater).

Here is where an understanding of the "geo" or geographical part of geo-politics enter in. We don't have time to go into all of it, but there are a few Western idiots who have somewhat of an understanding. digression on sanctions

Perhaps my use of the term "overturned" is too broad. Did 40 years of sanctions prevent North Korea from obtaining nuclear weapons knowhow and build a bomb (or obtaining ICBM technology from Ukraine to deliver it to the United States)? No.

Does anyone seriously believe a third world hellhole like sanctioned North Korea can build a nuclear bomb, but sanctions will prevent a rich, highly educated population like Iran from doing the same (or even buying one from North Korea)?

Raytheon fined $1 billion for defrauding government

So what does this mean? "Justice is served"? Hardly. Congress has to award Raytheon another $1 billion in contracts plus lobbying kickbacks to Congressional campaigns for Raytheon to break even. [10]

So now the taxpayers and consumers are on the hook for another $2 billion + added to the national debt (and its inflationary consequences). Make sense? After being defrauded, the government reimburses the criminals for their loss.

The time devoted to civic education in American public schools began to significantly decline in the 1960s.[14] And before that, ethics/religion and discipline was removed from many public schools and liberal/leftist indoctrination poured into many public schools and not enough school choice being offered (Vouchers, etc.).

As result, we have gotten a TON of lawfare and civil rights abuses against Trump via the Justice Department, FBI, CIA and Democrats plus SCOTUS judges threatened by angry mobs. In addition, the world rankings of the American school system at the primary and high school level has gone down.

Now while Trump has merely a fraction of authoritarian tendencies/leaning than Biden/Harris and other left-leaning Democrats, he has his problems too as can be seen at: Trump denies he suggested ‘termination’ of Constitution, without deleting post, Politico, 2022 and Cruz: “Of course” Trump was wrong to call for terminating Constitution, Texas Tribune, 2022 and Donald Trump: 'When somebody is president of the United States, the authority is total', video (During the pandemic) and Trump asked Twitter to take down ‘derogatory’ tweet from Chrissy Teigen: whistleblower, The Hill, 2023.

A big difference between Trump and Democrats is that Trump is man of the people (And is a nicer person as well) and he craves praise, recognition and respect as well. And he knows if he were to be as bad as the Biden/Harris/Democrats as far as authoritarianism, he would be hated by the majority of Americans. In addition, the GOP is a lot less authoritarian than Democrats and that restricts Trump's power too.

But our Founding Fathers foresaw this problem and that is why we have separation of powers, federalism (state rights) and the electoral college. So it very hard for authoritarians to gain as much power as they would wish. In addition, thanks to the US Constitution, the filibuster rule in the Senate and the fact that cultures tend to change slowly (Much of USA culture comes from Britain/West which had the Magna Carta, common law, Greek democracy/Aristotle, etc., so it is hard for hardcore authoritarianism such as fascism/communism to take root in the United States). At the same time, because Germany has a more authoritarian than the UK, Hitler quickly transformed a democratic republic into a constitutional dictatorship so Americans need to be vigilant.[15]

I hope Republicans/Trump does a better job of pushing school choice so civics/ethics/religion is taught more. Because that is a big root of the problem.

Lastly, the reason why the NYT and Democrats are so desperate and try to equate Trump to Hitler/fascism is that the best pollsters, early voting results and the betting markets point to Trump winning the election.[16][17][18][19][20][21][22]. Conservative (talk) 11:26, October 23, 2024 (EDT)

If I were Trump, I wouldn't trash talk her father. He did enough to disown her for calling Jamaicans a bunch of pleasure seeking drug addicts ("your grandmothers would be rolling over in their graves") at a crucial moment leading up to the Iowa caucuses. I doubt Harris will win. The most reliable polling companies in 2020 predict Trump winning the 2024 election in the swing states and the political betting markets favor Trump too[46][47] (Since the 1800s, the political betting markets have only been wrong twice when it comes to presidential elections[48]). The conservative Steve Turley gave some counterarguments to Trump not winning, but he explained why they all seemed very unlikely. I realize that very unlikely things do happen, so it's not totally impossible that Kamala Harris will win, but it does appear to be unlikely. On the other hand, Harris does have a 46.3% chance of winning according to https://electionbettingodds.com/ which uses a weighted average of all the political betting markets.

Lately, people have been voting against the opposition more when it comes to their sentiments and the Not Kamala Harris sentiments does seem stronger than the anti-Trump sentiment due to her being a vacuous, flipper flopper who doesn't offer any solutions and this is obviously why she mainly does softball interviews that she often flubs. Maybe she has the intellectual capacity to understand issues, but she doesn't do the requisite study of the issues because she is lazy and/or lacks intellectual humility/curiosity.

Abortion may get some votes in the short term for blue states, but over the long term, it reduces the future voters of blue states. In addition, the existence of red states helps to keep a lid on the potential craziness of blue states because people are able to vote with their feet and move from blue states to red states. PA is a very important state in the 2024 election and that is why both campaigns poured a lot of resources into it. But who knows? Maybe Trump will sweep all 7 battleground states. At the end of the day, Trump's appears to be the favorite, but sometimes the favorites don't win in presidential races or horse races. But his odds of winning appear to be good.
