NWA World Tag Team Championship
The NWA World Tag Team Championship is the main tag team championship in the National Wrestling Alliance.
This version of the championship was created in 1992 when the board of directors of the NWA (then a governing body of wrestling promotions, not the singular promotion it is today) decided to create a board-controlled version of the title and had World Championship Wrestling host a tournament to decide the first champions. Prior to this, various NWA members each sanctioned their own regional versions of an NWA World Tag Team Championship during the Territory Era of professional wrestling between the 1950s and 1991. Some versions of the championship were also recognized in other NWA member promotions that did not sanction their own version of an NWA World Tag Team title.
These were the versions of the NWA World Tag Team Championship that were promoted during given periods in specific regions by their NWA-affiliated promotions, along with the fate of each title:
- Amarillo/West Texas (Western States Sports, 1955-1969; replaced with the NWA Western States Tag Team Championship)
