Some websites and sources, notably the Liberal Media and Wikipedia,[1] have been known for trying to hide the Islamist motivation for attacks. Overall terrorist attacks have sharply increased after the 9/11 attacks in 2001.[2]

As noted below, the list only provides the number of innocent people killed in the attacks; the death tolls do not include suicide attackers who kill themselves as part of their attacks, or terrorists who are killed by police or the military during their attacks.
