She has a bachelors degree from Stanford University, and a doctorate from Oxford. (She went to Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.) Maddow is one of relatively few openly gay personalities in the mainstream news media. Like almost everyone at the MSNBC network, she has been an hysterical opponent of former U.S President George W.
