Peaceful God loving American mid sized city attempts to go 3 days without a murder
A city of circa 600,000 has more murders per year than the entire UK (circa 65 million). Who has the problem?--MEarnshaw (talk) 23:10, 9 August 2017 (EDT)

:Your post shows how ignorant and uninformed you are of United States politics. You cite Baltimore (!?), of all cities, as a "God loving American mid sized city"? Baltimore is one of the most left-wing cities in the United States, run by far-left Democrats for decades. Furthermore, it lies in Maryland, one of the most left-wing states in the nation. Many of Baltimore's politicians strongly support the "Black Lives Matter" movement, a political movement which cares more about political goals than improving the lives of black Americans. Liberal Democrats have controlled these cities/states for decades, and they have not improved the situation for the people in their cities. --1990'sguy (talk) 23:20, 9 August 2017 (EDT)

:The world has a sin problem (see Romans 1:18–3:26, for example). Leftist policies do not solve this problem (in fact, many leftists wrongly believe that utopia can be achieved here on Earth). --1990'sguy (talk) 23:25, 9 August 2017 (EDT)

--Yet in the leftist UK there were approx 300 murders in 2015,in America this number was circa 30,000. Even taking into account the US's 5 times population this still means that for every murder in the UK there are 20 murders in the USA. The UK, incidentally, has one of the highest murder rates in the EU. I ask again, who has the (much bigger) problem?--MEarnshaw (talk) 23:36, 9 August 2017 (EDT)

:Once again, these murders are taking place in cities -- places run by very left-wing politicians. Are you trying to frame leftist failures as mistakes by conservatives? Europe's problems are far greater than those seen by the U.S. -- we don't have to worry about millions of migrants (who don't even share your culture(s) and values) coming in, the suppression of free speech (offensive speech is criminal in much of Europe), leftist/globalist politicians seeking to create utopia here on earth by uniting Europe (and eventually the world) and abolishing borders and supporting mass migration, and many other issues. Which place has it worse? Europe (and I speak as a citizen of a European country who just made another visit). --1990'sguy (talk) 23:43, 9 August 2017 (EDT)

North Korea won't flatten Seoul
 +
 +
Haven't we all heard this argument? The U.S. better be nice to Kim Jong-un or North Korean artillery will flatten the Seoul Metropolitan Area where 25 million South Koreans live. NK often boasts of its ability to turn Seoul into a "sea of flames." That scenario makes several unrealistic assumptions, the most notable being that the U.S. and South Korean forces won't fight back. If war breaks out, NK's only logical strategy will be focus everything they have on the forces attacking them. To cluster the artillery pieces near the border just north of Seoul, as the "flatten Seoul" scenario assumes, would make them easy targets. The known North Korean artillery positions are not even in range of Seoul. See "At Least Eight Reasons Why The Talk Of North Korea Leveling Seoul Is Simply Wrong." :In 2010, NK fired 288 rockets at a South Korean island. Only 47 percent of the rockets even hit the island. Of those that did hit, 20 percent were duds. This island is 7 miles off the coast of NK. The "flatten Seoul" theorists assume the NK artillery will be massed at Kaesong, 44 miles from Seoul. PeterKa (talk) 03:08, 10 August 2017 (EDT)

It's time to call off Armageddon and declare victory. Whatever Trump's negotiating strategy was, it seems to have worked. Because North Korea has already responded by dropping its threat against Guam. I put the blame for this crisis on China and Obama. The Chinese have been playing chicken over this issue since 2011, when they dramatically jacked up support for NK. It's probably not a coincidence that 2011 was also the year Obama turned American foreign policy around, pulled out of Iraq, and decided to cozy up with Iran. This source has revealed that James Fields, the driver at the Charlottesville riot last Saturday who mowed down an Antifa rioter, was himself not only part of Antifa, but was also a Hillary Clinton supporter. 1) A federal appeals court ruled in favor of the undercover video maker who exposed Planned Parenthood's practices. I don't think we can view the videos yet, but the appeals court sent the case back to the lower court and said it should justify why it made the ruling that it did.

Obama judges

Despite the Supreme Court ruling, Obama-appointed judges are still trying to stop Trump's travel ban.[1] This is blatant judicial activism, and I fear that this will not be the worst of it. --1990'sguy (talk) 03:32, 29 June 2017 (EDT)

Will Neil Gorsuch vote to reverse Roe vs. Wade?

"On Monday, Gorsuch indicated that he opposes equal rights for same-sex couples, dissenting from a ruling that requires states to list same-sex parents on birth certificates. (Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito joined his dissent.) That, alone, is startling: In Obergefell v. Hodges, the court held that the Constitution compels states to grant same-sex couples “the constellation” of “rights, benefits, and responsibilities” that “the states have linked to marriage,” including “birth and death certificates.” Obergefell, then, already settled this issue. Gorsuch’s dissent suggests he may not accept Obergefell as settled law and may instead seek to undermine or reverse it."[5]

Will Neil Gorsuch vote to reverse Roe vs. Wade?

Gorsuch goes to a rapidly pro-gay church with a woman "pastor".[6] So what is the good news about that church? Evidently, her liberal sermons are so boring that Gorsuch sleeps right though them! Conservative (talk)

Simple because a church welcomes and accepts gays, as most Christians churches do, doesn't mean they're pro-gay. If the church conducts gay " marriage", then the label would fit. Does Gorsuch' church perform gay weddings? RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 21:17, 29 June 2017 (EDT)
The reversal of Roe V. Wade will not happen anytime soon. I don't even think it would happen in the next ten years. But if the court continues to put people on the right as judges, gradually you will see change. The good news is that a majority of the public now opposes abortion. That is the true catalyst.--Jpatt 22:01, 29 June 2017 (EDT)

I very much doubt that most churches are accepting of homosexuality. Most churches in the world are outside the Western World (see: Global Christianity). Even in the USA, a lot of liberal churches have closed/are fairly empty and/or been taken over by more conservative churches. And it varies by regions on the USA. Conservative (talk) 22:30, 29 June 2017 (EDT)

Second, the average age of replacing a Supreme Court judge is around 80 years old. There are 3 SCOTUS judges who are about that age.

Trump could get 1-4 judges depending on how many terms he serves. That could reverse Roe vs. Wade.

I realize that liberals have been in power for about 50 years, but their power is crumbling and the rate of crumbling appears to be accelerating. Maybe the internet is speeding up social change. Another factor could be that amount of government debt is a drag to economies and people are getting dissatisfied with their economic conditions.Conservative (talk) 22:30, 29 June 2017 (EDT)

It'll happen sooner than you'll expect. There won't be a universal ban, the Court will just kick it back to the states. That means if you live in Alabama or Texas, you have to fly to New York or Hollywood to get an abortion. This is logically the best possible outcome. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 09:11, 30 June 2017 (EDT)
There is data supporting the proposition that by the end of the century, three quarters of America may be pro-life (see: American culture war, demographics and expected tipping point after 2020).Conservative (talk) 05:22, 1 July 2017 (EDT)

No transgenders in the USA military. How can the USA possibly win any wars now?

General Mattis says there will be no transgenders in the USA military in 2017.[7] How can the USA possibly win any wars now?

Look at all the transgender military heros in the annals of war! Look at all the transgender generals in history who lead successful military campaigns! Look at all the highly effective transgender drill sergeants in the world's militaries.

Transgenders are proven fighters. You just have to look at all the successful transgender boxers there have been to see this.

How can General Mattis be so blind and stubborn?

This is a crushing blow to U.S. military readiness.

Look at THIS VIDEO. Case closed!Conservative (talk) 14:18, 1 July 2017 (EDT)

I hope you're just being sarcastic and not being serious about this, because transgenderisms aren't essential to winning a war. Pokeria1 (talk) 14:37, 1 July 2017 (EDT)
I'm pretty sure that Conservative, of all editors, is simply using sarcastic humor. He is exposing the silliness of leftist pro-transgender ideology, which seeks to push itself into areas like the military, even if it reduces the strength of the military. --1990'sguy (talk) 14:47, 1 July 2017 (EDT)
Richard the Lionhearted is said to have been gay, but there's no record of whether or if his gay lover was a tranny. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 15:30, 1 July 2017 (EDT)
That was my thought too, that he was mocking what the hand-wringing liberal media might say about that issue. Northwest (talk) 19:19, 1 July 2017 (EDT)
 • Hormone therapy and sex change operations are recent developments. But there's a history of female warriors dressing as men, including Mulan and Joan of Arc. The Greeks idealized warrior couple Achilles and Patroclus. Following their example, Alexander and Hadrian had same sex lovers, or at least let people think they did. At the same time, it was considered shameful for a man to take the female role. PeterKa (talk) 21:00, 1 July 2017 (EDT)

I was being sarcastic. Liberals want to make big issues/battles out of things that are not important or don't even exist. And sometimes the want societies to devote a lot of resources to them. For example: global warming hysteria; macroevolution don't even exist but they want people to somehow study it; we don't need transgenders to achieve military victories. etc. etc. There are plenty of important issues where changes can be made. Conservative (talk) 21:20, 1 July 2017 (EDT)

Mueller hires Bharara's deputy

Mueller is reportedly hiring Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Goldstein, once Bharara's deputy: "Special counselor adds former Preet Bharara prosecutor to Russia probe: Reports." I mean, was Lois Lerner not available? See "Dinesh D’Souza: Preet Bharara a ‘Ruthless and Deceitful Guy’ (VIDEO)." Unfortunately, firing Mueller won't solve anything. The uproar would force Rosenstein to replace him with someone worse. Trump needs to fire Sessions. Sessions' recusal has effectively left the Justice Department unsupervised. There was never any way the Mueller investigation was going to have a happy ending. Mueller is a close friend of Comey's. As FBI director, he spent years pursuing Steven Hatfill on bogus anthrax accusations. A judge had to intervene to tell him to stop it. Comey and Mueller are cops straight out of Law & Order. They know the real terrorist is always a right winger. PeterKa (talk) 20:18, 1 July 2017 (EDT)

Preet Bhara means they are looking at Manhattan real estate deals. This has absolutely car nothing do with election tampering or the DNC. Kushner bought his property about two months before the Crash of 2008 and paid too much for it (something like $4.8 billion) and had to re-fi immediately cause he couldn't get the rents that were anticipated. Deutsche Bank is involved too. But if there's some connection to Russian oligarchs its got to be quite a stretch. Then one needs to pay a attention to the timeline, as well. IOW, when at what time was something legal that later became illegal. Transactions and deals before the sanctions were grandfathered in - the sanctions only applied to new deals going forward. If somebody had a deal with a Russian on the blacklist prior to the law taking effect, they are not required to liwuidaste the investment. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 23:42, 1 July 2017 (EDT)
The Mueller investigation is already a monster. The DOJ's biggest mob investigation ever was the pizza connection case. That was five attorneys. Mueller already has 15 -- 16 if Goldstein accepts a position. DC juries are hugely partisan; No Republican can expect a fair trial. PeterKa (talk) 12:26, 2 July 2017 (EDT)

Wannacry worm

User(s):cons. Is there a reason you have posted a 2 month old story about the Wanna Cry worm to MPR? Especially as it was a Brit security expert who discovered the error in wanna cry and by registering the domain name stopped the attack before it could hit the US? And to be pedantic it didn't 'completely negate the ability of the NHS to function' About 25% or less of the NHS were forced to stop using computers for a short period of time, some operations were cancelled and people were asked not to go to Accident and Emergency without REAL reason. The NHS in general still functioned fine, I was able to get my prescriptions and go to see my GP for an appointment I didn't have to pay for. Davidspencer (talk) 09:56, 2 July 2017 (EDT)

Davidspencer, no concession that having WindowsXP on a computer is a very bad idea? At the very least, they should have have the computers using limited user accounts which stops about 90% of all malware.
"This week's attack comes just more than a month after the WannaCry Ransomware attack, which affected 200 Swiss IP addresses and more than 300,000 computers worldwide.
No major organizations in Switzerland were affected by that attack, though it brought Britain's National Health Service, Spain's national telecom provider Telefonica and US delivery service FedEx to a standstill."[8]
Switzerland, which has one of the highest living standards in the world, has one of the highest rates of creationism in Europe. In 2006 it was reported: "one in three Swiss thinks it is "definitely false" that humans developed from earlier species of animals, according to an international survey on evolution."[9] Conservative (talk)
 • people were asked not to go to Accident and Emergency without REAL reason. The NHS in general still functioned fine
Gotta love that British humour. By functioning fine with the Emergency rooms closed, means the waiting lists had to be written out by hand which then had to be entered into the computers later. I mean, what other services do they provide besides Emergency or putting you on a waiting list? RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 14:13, 2 July 2017 (EDT)
Oh come on Rob I know you can read better than that. No A&E's were closed, some merely asked people without real emergencies not to attend. You know, like people with splinters attending saying it is an emergency. Sadly with a health care system where care is free at the point of delivery people do tend to take the rise a little. As for other services that the NHS provides. Well, I could list them but that would be boring. So let's just keep it short and say mental health care, dietary advice if required, routine blood testing (for conditions such as gout, hepatitis etc), midwifery services and birth control, dispensing of prescription medicines. I know of no GP's practices that were shut down at all. And A&E doesn't function on waiting lists, treatment required for emergencies is done there and then, only if the condition is not an emergency does anything move to a waiting list. And Cons, as for XP correct me if I am wrong but I recall reading recently that large parts of the US military and other areas of the US government still use computers running XP. Davidspencer (talk) 09:03, 3 July 2017 (EDT)
Dietary advice? US doctors don't give dietary advice, it's considered quack medicine. They only dispense pills since Big Pharma is in control of the healthcare system. Our Emergency rooms are clogged with methadone patients who can't come up with $8 for their daily dose for their opioid addiction. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 17:29, 3 July 2017 (EDT)
Remind me Rob what percentage of the US public is overweight and considered obese? Perhaps if they indulged in a little more 'quack' medicine all the illnesses associated with obesity like diabetes, heart disease, joint problems, arthritis etc may be reduced a little and the medicaid budget could be spent on things other than mobility scooters. Davidspencer (talk) 01:59, 4 July 2017 (EDT)
I agree 100%. Now they are seeking to ban doctors from giving nutritional information for lack of training. Australia has the same problem. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 22:02, 4 July 2017 (EDT)

Davidspencer, according to Google UK, Conservapedia ranks #5 for the term "Britain is the fat man of Europe" as can be seen here: HERE and it ranks #1 at Google UK for the term "Godless Britain is the fat man of Europe" as can be seen HERE. According to Google USA, Conservapedia ranks #8 at Google out of 2,700,000 search results for the term "Britain is the fat man of Europe as can be seen HERE and it ranks #1 at Google USA for the term "Godless Britain is the fat man of Europe" as can be seen HERE. Conservapedia's article is at: Essay: Godless Britain is the fat man of Europe.

So Britain has the reputation of being the fattest country in an entire continent.

And Britain is very intent on bringing Muslims into its country. You will notice HERE that 5 out of 10 of the fattest countries in the world are Muslim majority countries. So the situation could get much worse in Britain given their great ardor to bring Muslims into their country.

On the other hand, Mexico is currently the fattest country in the world. And thanks to Trump building a wall, the Mexicans will be kept out of America to a high degree because the portly Mexicans will find it very difficult to scale Trump's wall. And if they dig tunnels to go under the wall, they will burn off their excess weight. Conservative (talk) 03:49, 4 July 2017 (EDT)

I am going to make fewer jabs at the Brits and may not do it at all anymore. The truth is that nearly all the people I met who were born in Britain were very pleasant people. Conservative (talk) 02:59, 3 July 2017 (EDT)
Don't worry about it users:conservative. We're pretty thick skinned over here and can take quite a bit of gentle micky taking. That famous British irony and satirical sense of self-deprecation you know. After all, don't forget we produced Monty Python and the whole point of them was to mock ourselves. Sadly we also produced James Cordon but at least we managed to off-load him onto you guys. Davidspencer (talk) 09:10, 3 July 2017 (EDT)
As far as the West, the British have been in decline for some time and it has just been more noticeable because they lost their empire. But all of Western Civilization is in decline right now. In the USA, it started after a significant portion of Americans embraced Darwinism (see: Social effects of the theory of evolution) then picked up steam after WWII prosperity and then picked up further steam in the 1960s in the USA. But maybe that is too simplistic. Western civilization is a mix of Roman, Greek and Christian ideology. Greco-Roman culture is a mixed bag. And certain parts of Christendom are stronger than others.
European/Russian decline had happened earlier partly because of state/religion ties being too strong and religion getting tainted in the public's mind due to corrupt states. And America has had more religious freedom.
But I am hopeful because evangelical Christianity is growing quickly in the non-Western World, growing in Europe and the Hispanic evangelical population is growing quickly in the USA.
In addition, maybe the West will sober up after it gets hit with a financial crisis that seems inevitable due to national debts growing in countries and countries having poor immigration policies (which is partly due to having sub-replacement levels of birth among the native populations).
Furthermore, leftism appears to be in decline in the West due to many people seeing its corrosive effect on societies (And because the left has lost some of its control over the flow of information due to the internet). And in the USA, the religious are having more children which is partly why generation Z has been called the most conservative generation since WWII.
Islam in Europe is a wild card. Muslims in Europe might be expelled (It happened in Spanish history). On the other hand, I think Muslims in Europe might be one of the causal factors of Darwinism being crushed in Europe. Turkey is part of NATO, for example, and Darwinism is in the process of being crushed in that country.
But ultimately, there is going to be a time of decline in the world. Scripture indicates that men's love will grow cold in the end times and wickedness will increase. Conservative (talk) 11:02, 3 July 2017 (EDT)

Gen Z and the Republican Party

Not sure if this article is a report on an older study, but I found this off of realclearpolitics.com today (article is dated July 1st)... http://nypost.com/2017/07/01/why-the-next-generation-after-millennials-will-vote-republican/. Basically, it just states that Gen Z is socially liberal but more conservative on financial and foreign policy. Also says that Gen Z, while being more liberal on same-sex marriage, goes to church more than the Millennials or Gen X. Tried to find the actual study but I couldn't find it. AnchorDown

France's solution to adhere to Paris deal

The French government announced it would ban the sale of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles by 2040. This is the most extreme action I've seen by a country to adhere to the agreement. Liberals oppose fossil fuels (along with nuclear energy) regardless of the cost-benefits. This action, no doubt, is a step towards achieving the left-wing utopia (which, by the way, includes a one-world government). What to do about North Korea?

At last we have proof that China pulls North Korea's strings. Chinese trade with NK was up 40 percent in the first quarter, and guess what? NK has become more aggressive and launched a game changing long range missile. Now that we know the real problem is China, a money obsessed kleptocracy, there are a lot more options. Sanction banks that do business with NK, especially Chinese banks like Bank of China. Retaliate for North Korean hacking against Chinese targets. Time to expose the Chinese leaders as the grafters they are. The Panama papers have already exposed a lot of Xi Jinping's graft. I'm sure the NSA can find more. This issue is extremely sensitive with the Chinese public. You just need the breach the Great Firewall and make sure the Chinese people find out. If we keep kicking the can down the road, it ends with an NK nuclear strike on a major U.S. city. Krauthammer has a good article on this. But he makes one mistake. In modern China, it's all about money. PeterKa (talk) 06:48, 7 July 2017 (EDT)

Trying to get the Chinese to do things is very difficult. If getting the Chinese to put sufficient pressure on North Korea was possible, it probably would have been done time ago. The Chinese don't want North Korea to collapse and be flooded with refugees and illegal immigrants.
Given their continued progress in terms of advancing their nuclear weapons capability, the deterrence against North Korea will likely be America's ability to unleash nuclear bombs on their nation.Conservative (talk) 20:59, 7 July 2017 (EDT)

The main page right item says, "51% of students in 2-year colleges take remedial courses, and most of them do not graduate, which means they are wasting their time and money." England is officially gone

Just as the Muslims took over the Cathedral of St. Sophia in Istanbul, the seige of the Westminster Abbey is now on. Once Muslims find a secure place to pray, that land, those few cubic feet, become part of Islam under Islamic law. You'll have to fight if you want to take it back. Its doubtful England and Christianity will survive Queen Elizabeth. NATO will be depending on our Muslim/British allies to retake Germany from of our Muslim/German allies. You could have chosen a more reputable source - one that explained the prayers were held outside the Abbey as part of a multi-faith ceremony to condemn terrorism and commemorate the four innocent people who had been killed a few yards away. A more reputable source would also have explained that the Archbishop of Canterbury, a senior rabbi and a Catholic cardinal were present. Still, why let the facts get in the way of a good yarn, eh? Also, the proportion of those who identify as Church of England worshippers has seen a slight increased from 16.3 per cent in 2009 to 17.1 per cent in 2015 (see: UK and secularism). Evangelical-like Protestantism is infiltrating the Anglican church in England.
The future of Christianity in England is probably going to be tied to evangelical/pentecostal Christianity.
Also, as Brits see the effects of Islam on France where the percentage of Muslims is higher in their population, they may put a break on Muslim immigration. Conservative (talk) 19:33, 15 July 2017 (EDT)

It is sad that so many Christian churches, in many of which solid orthodox Christian doctrine was once taught, are now either dead museums, dying, or have adopted theological liberal theology. Imagine what people would think if a church in the 1500s, 1600s, or 1700s had an interfaith service. Europe is losing its Christian heritage, which, by the way, played a central role in shaping European culture through the 19th and even the 20th century. --1990'sguy (talk) 17:39, 17 July 2017 (EDT)
This is where we must agree to differ. I much prefer the vibrant culture of Southwark Cathedral and diocese, with its interfaith meetings and services, to the religious wars of the early modern era. It's one of the things that separates us from the jihadis. Rafael (talk) 11:58, 19 July 2017 (EDT)
Luther, Zwingli, Calvin, and the other Reformers never wanted war. They wanted religious reform and for the church to go back to the Bible, which does not advocate for religious war (the real battle is spiritual, not physical, and God will win regardless of what we do). The Roman Catholic Church opposed the decline of their authority, and much politics was involved in these wars. The Hussites and other Protestants fought to protect their freedom to worship as they chose.
Do I think the system back then was really great? No. I think state churches are a bad idea -- they always were (we can see this in Sweden today, where pastors are now forced to marry homosexuals because of this). But, at least back then, people cared about having right doctrine. This life was not the one they cared most about. They would not compromise with the other side and violate their consciences just to have peace.
But why do you refer to the 1500s and early 1600s? Why not the 1700s, 1800s, and the early 1900s, when orthodox Christianity still stood strong and there was peace and religious tolerance? (the Pietist movement in the 1700s, John Edwards, Charles Spurgeon, etc.) Not even this is enough for liberals today, it seems. --1990'sguy (talk) 12:13, 19 July 2017 (EDT)
I referred to those periods because you did.Rafael (talk) 12:52, 19 July 2017 (EDT)
Religious wars were over after 1648 (the end of the 30-Years-War, which is considered the turning point of European alliances being religiously-based to purely politically-based). I listed the 1500s, 1600s, and 1700s. During half of that time period, religious wars were over, even though tolerance, as we think of it today, came later for most of Western Europe. --1990'sguy (talk) 13:01, 19 July 2017 (EDT)
Besides, there was doctrinal purity even in peaceful areas during that time. --1990'sguy (talk) 13:02, 19 July 2017 (EDT)
I agree with your overall point? Maybe. But I do highly disagree with your idea that the bible did not advocate for religious war, and that's speaking as a Catholic. Do I really have to remind you that Jerusalem was literally FOUNDED on a religious war? How Moses actually had to stand to ensure the Israelites won various battles, not being overcome so long as his arms are high up? And besides, if God truly didn't want a religious war, ESPECIALLY if it wasn't endorsed by the Bible, something he made in the first place, what's stopping him from, say, doing onto those who merely suggest, let alone actually practicing a religious war what Zen-Oh did to Universe 9 (and BTW, that's actually one of the reasons I serve God, largely out of sheer terror, and you can probably see why from that clip)? God's clearly in charge, so he literally could do away with anything he does not approve of with literally nothing stopping him. Pokeria1 (talk) 13:15, 19 July 2017 (EDT)
I know of Joshua and the other books in the Old Testament that record the wars fought by the Israelites. I am not denying that, nor do I disapprove of those wars at all. The Israelites were commanded by God to take the Promised Land and wipe out the pagans living there. That was good, and the Israelites should have obeyed that command, rather than reaching out to the Canaanites and making peace. The OT wars and Jihad in Islam cannot be compared to each other: [16]
However, we live in a different time. Jesus has come into the world, and now Christians are commanded to go into the world and preach the good news (Matthew 28:18-20). The real battle is not against other people, but against spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12). Just because the Israelites waged a holy war does not necessarily give us permission to do likewise. We would be diverging from our real mission and we would be most likely forget that God has won and will judge everyone. I agree, though that there is nothing sinful about Christians fighting when necessary.[17] --1990'sguy (talk) 13:46, 19 July 2017 (EDT)
I'm not sure if God actually won, even WITH Jesus's crucifixion. When I think of God winning, I think of him actually taking away our free will and our being explicit slaves to God, and him openly bragging about his superiority and control over us, and then forcing us to do what he wants regardless of what we want. Oh, and outright murdering Satan with a smile on his face as he does so, sort of like what Zen-Oh did in that clip to Universe 9. When we still have sin in the world, even with Jesus's sacrifice, and God views sin as an abomination that he absolutely will not tolerate, saying he won seems ambiguous at best. Now, do I think he scored points and got an edge over Satan? Yes. Do I want God to win? Yes, even though I'm more terrified of God than anything else. Long story short, I see God as being totalitarian with a superiority complex, precisely because of, among other things, his omnipotence. Pokeria1 (talk) 20:29, 20 July 2017 (EDT)
Revelation makes it crystal clear that God is going to win -- prophecies in the Bible can be spoken of in the past tense (many of them are in the past tense). Also, 1 Corinthians 15:26 states that death is the last enemy. Jesus's death on the cross has set the victory into motion. To be clear, I was not voicing the false view that the Second Coming has already happened. And when He comes again, he will act justly -- casting Satan into the fiery sulfur lake, along with every person who has not repented of their sins and trusted in Him alone. However, for those of us who have done so, life will be awesome. --1990'sguy (talk) 23:17, 20 July 2017 (EDT)
Oh, I know God's definitely going to win. I was referring to your recently-added statement of "and we would be most likely forget that God has won and will judge everyone." as if he already done so, when he hasn't yet. And quite frankly, even Satan being sent into the fiery lake is too good for him. Quite frankly, God should have done to him and his followers what Zen-Oh did in that clip, and with a great big smile on his face, even gleefully refuse mercy when Satan and his followers beg for it. Australian woman in Minneapolis killed by first "fully integrated" Somali Muslim cop

She is the one who called the cops. While she was talks with one, the other killed her. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 17:30, 17 July 2017 (EDT)

Of course he was "fully integrated". He shot her didn't he? That's what Yank cops do.
The difference here - apart from the Australian aspect - is that it is black cop and white victim so he will be on his own. Already it's been labelled a homicide. Let's see if "justified" can be pinned to it - after all she was a blonde woman in pyjamas so was obviously up to no good. And as any US cop will tell you, a cellphone looks just like a pistol if a policeman wants it to be. AlanE (talk) 23:33, 17 July 2017 (EDT)
The isn't a black-white issue. It's 'can Muslims be successfully integrated into a secular civil law enforcement body versus the public's confidence in law enforcement to protect them from immigrant rapists and gangbangers'. I know the neighborhood well, I lived a few blocks from where this occured in the 1980s. I also understand Minnesota Democrats well and how they live in bubble. Senate defections kill Obamacare repeal effort

The polls are in, and the cloudburst about Donald Jr's meeting doesn't seem to have changed many minds. All the same, my sense is that we have arrived at a turning point. Two more Republican senators have defected, causing the media to declare Obamacare repeal dead. To take the House, the Dems need to win the popular vote by at least 7 points.[18] If the polls suggest that could happen, we'll see a lot more defections. The Cook Report is predicting 233 Republican seats after the 2018 midterm, 192 Dems, and 10 toss ups.[19] Besides a stalled legislative agenda, Mueller's investigation looms. If he's not fired, he'll start indicting. Either way, the outlook is grim. Of course, I wrote Trump off once before, back in August. PeterKa (talk) 02:57, 18 July 2017 (EDT)

The GOP establishment has revealed itself to be what it really is – a bunch of political hacks who care more about their jobs than advancing conservative ideals and helping the nation. If they failed at repealing and replacing ObamaCare, what can they do? This was supposed to be the easiest item on the agenda. They should all be voted out. --1990'sguy (talk) 11:19, 18 July 2017 (EDT)
Now the GOP cannot even do a full repeal of ObamaCare: [20] One of the defecting "Republicans", Susan Collins even blatantly stated her desire to "fix" ObamaCare, rather than repeal it. Now, the only hope of ending/avoiding socialized medicine, I think, is to wait until after the election and campaign hard in order to elect more conservatives. --1990'sguy (talk) 14:02, 18 July 2017 (EDT)
Now, the "moderates" are meeting with Dems for a "bipartisan" (aka. European-style politics where multiple different parties that believe essentially the same thing advance liberal legislation they support and shun people who actually disagree with them) bill.[21] No more PP defunding, probably no tort reform, etc. --1990'sguy (talk) 21:58, 18 July 2017 (EDT)
The repeal bill Obama vetoed in 2015 is what Republicans ran on. It passed the Senate 52-47. It was whole lot better than the one before the Senate now. Check it out: "You Want to Know Who to Blame If ObamaCare Is Not Repealed? I’ll Tell You Who." PeterKa (talk) 02:01, 19 July 2017 (EDT)
This nightmare reveals much about our federal system. Obamacare, like our election laws, is not a single piece of legislation. We really have 50 different systems with 50 different laws in 50 states functioning under the name Obamacare with mandates from Washington. Some states have special exemptions from mandates that were crafted to win passage in 2010. Now Senators from each of those states trot into McConnell's office to secure another special deal, which if others discover, scream unfairness. It's a difficult balancing act.
In states, counties, and municipalities, all elected officials play by the same rules. In federal Washington, legislators represent states that have entirely different laws from one another - none are playing by the same rules. This may be the subject of an upcoming essay. Here is Lowry: "Yeah, Trump Is Probably Going to Fire Robert Mueller." That would trigger quite a storm, but I don't see any way to avoid it. Mueller yearns to be the Archibald Cox de nos jour. Bring back rule of law

Prominent Dems have been above the law for a long time. Ken Starr meticulously documented various examples of Clinton criminality, all to shockingly little effect. Liberal arrogance is on full display in today's jaw dropping Washington Post editorial. This piece argues that it's "not okay" to hold Hillary responsible for her crimes. Is deleting and "bleaching" 30,000 emails under FBI investigation somehow not enough to justify an obstruction charge? It's not just the old catalog of horrors either. More recently, Judicial Watch uncovered numerous additional examples of pay to play. In one case, Bill Clinton got $500,000 for a Moscow speech in 2010 while Hillary issued visas to Russian human rights violators. See "Clinton Scandal Only Deepens — So Why Is Trump, Not Hillary, Targeted For Investigation?" Trump's next move should be to order the NSA to turn Hillary's deleted email over to the Justice Department. There is an informal tradition of giving former presidents a pass on legal indiscretions. But there is no logic to creating a "wife and candidate" privilege, which is essentially what the WP is demanding. PeterKa (talk) 08:21, 26 July 2017 (EDT)

RINO betrayal on repealing Obamacare

Scaramucci

The New Yorker article. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 23:37, 27 July 2017 (EDT)

I don't really trust Scaramucci -- he had many tweets promoting left-wing viewpoints, he supported Democrats and moderate Republicans before supporting Trump, and he is criticizing Steve Bannon, rather than criticizing people like Cohn, Powell, and Kushner, who are even more liberal than Priebus is. I really hope Trump won't effectively block his agenda through these appointments. --1990'sguy (talk) 23:40, 27 July 2017 (EDT)
Scaramucci is loyal and he is humble enough to want to put Trump's agenda before his own. He is also very articulate and pleasant. Spicer was a nice guy, but he needed to go. The liberals ground him down. Scaramucci is more unflappable, firm and diplomatic than Spicer. So it is harder for liberals to get under Scaramucci's skin.
I wouldn't worry about Scaramucci.Conservative (talk) 23:48, 27 July 2017 (EDT)
I sure hope so, but his comments revealed today are anything but pleasant. --1990'sguy (talk) 23:50, 27 July 2017 (EDT)
I just read the New Yorker article. Scaramucci is a very passionate, firm and clever guy. Reince Priebus messed with the wrong guy. Priebus is going to lose this battle and get fired - especially since Scaramucci is so loyal to Trump.Conservative (talk) 00:10, 28 July 2017 (EDT)
Spicy may be out of the flagship series, but he could still end up with his own spinoff: "‘Dancing with the Stars’ wants Sean Spicer." Who knows where the motorized podium will take him next?
Scaramucci is too good at his job. He is even better at getting press attention than Trump is. I give him a week. Two weeks tops. PeterKa (talk) 00:42, 28 July 2017 (EDT)
If we don't see some legislative action before the two week break in mid August, Scaramucci's prediction of Priebus going may come true. At that point the rift in the GOP is complete between the White House and the party establishment. It'll be everyman for himself with the midterms approaching. People can threaten voting against McCain, Graham, Collins, Murkowski, Ryan all they want, it falls on deaf ears. Nobody thinks Pelosi & Summer can do a better job, and them taking over will guarantee impeachment charges. Trump would have to give them single payer to save himself, but they'd impeach him in the end anyway. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 01:54, 28 July 2017 (EDT)

Priebus, you're fired!

Title says it all. RINO establishment figure Reince Priebus has been booted out as Chief of Staff, and DHS Secretary John Kelly will replace him.

1) I'm curious who will replace Kelly. I'm hoping it will be someone like Kris Kobach or David Clarke. I will probably be content with another general as well.

2) It's reported that Trump is disagreeing with National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster. Hopefully, McMaster will leave his position as well. I have read many stories of him forcing more conservative people out of the NSC. --1990'sguy (talk) 22:42, 28 July 2017 (EDT)

The GOP can starve ObamaCare by refusing to pay cost-sharing subsidies. In addition, the GOP can also cut outreach programs which will cut enrollments and drive up prices. [26]
The GOP doesn't have to make full frontal attack on ObamaCare. Hit and run attacks and sabotage can kill the law.
On top of this, you have an aging baby boom population which will shoot up demand on medical services. Higher demand probably means higher prices.
In addition, you have obesity rates being higher among pre-boomer populations which means higher diabetes rates, higher rates of knee/foot problems, higher rates of cancer in their lives, etc. And the millennials are less religious so you have higher rates of alcoholism and drug abuse and higher rates of depression (see: Atheism and health). Pre-boomer populations are helping to drive up medical costs higher than is necessary.
The only potential cost savings in the system is technological/medical advances which cause medical costs to be cheaper.
All of this will probably be blamed on ObamaCare.
Priebus and Obama have something in common. Their political legacies are doomed. Sooner or later, ObamaCare is going to implode.Conservative (talk) 13:10, 29 July 2017 (EDT)
By midterms, Obamacare will have imploded requiring emergency debt relief from Congress. We'll be right back where we are now, on!y in a crisis environment. Firing Priebus means Trump wants to cut deals with Shummer & Pelosi. His tax reform package never got written up to the point it could be pronounced DOA. In the midterm crisis, with investigations - of Trump's own doing because he refuses to listen to advisors or take advice - coupled with the personal financial crisis Obamacare's implosion will cause, Republican members already are distancing themselves. I'm sure most have made up their minds in House & Senate how to vote on impeachment. And it all could be done quickly and painlessly. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 14:41, 29 July 2017 (EDT)
As Trump's legislative successes show, if it come to a vote of us or him, he looses. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 14:45, 29 July 2017 (EDT)

Priebus does not have a strong enough personality to be a chief of staff plus he was never given the authority he needed. Trump also needs to hire someone strong enough to challenge him and he needs to accept constructive criticism (But maybe Trump's ego will never allow this). Ford and Carter had problems with weak chiefs of staff. Maybe picking Newt Gingrich as a chief of staff instead of Priebus at the start would have been smarter. Conservative (talk) 19:50, 29 July 2017 (EDT)

As far as "Firing Priebus means Trump wants to cut deals with Shummer & Pelosi." The problem is the skyrocketing debt limits Trump's options in terms of the real world implications. For example, big infrastructure spending could cause economic problems due to higher federal debt being a drag on the economy.

In addition, the Democrats are inside in a leftist utopian bubble filled with fake problems/science (global warming, etc.) and unrealistic expectations on what science and social policies are able to solve. For example, achieving equality of results in terms of wealth is often legalized envy/robbery. Some people have more drive than others. In addition, if people who honestly try to get work or cannot work have their basic needs met, who cares if they lack cable television, Obama phones, etc. Right now, their are social costs like aging populations, training people for a new economy (robotics removing factory jobs), increasing literacy among older people whose failing public schools never educated them properly, etc. etc. so it is hard to justify cable television, Obama phones, for the poor. If they need to entertain themselves they should go to the library (read books), play cards or board games, etc. In addition, many of them should be spending their efforts to make themselves more employable through higher skill sets.Conservative (talk) 20:18, 29 July 2017 (EDT)

Obamacare implosion will be like the crash of 2008 when banks ran out of cash and Congress had to act in 72 hrs to raise the debt limit and grant he Treasury borrowing authority. In 2008, the Feds were pledged to bail out the banks since the FDIC Act in the 1930s. A bail out provision was included in Obamacare. As in the mortgage market, insurers were encouraged to write loans cause they couldn't loose money with a federal pledge. Unlike Fannie Mae, FDIC, or Medicare, no permanent funding source was ever provided, the idea bring single payer would take it's place when it failed. Obamacare has existed now for seven years with no funding source, just the borrowed money appropriated from the budget acts of 2009-10.
IOW, when it implodes - when insurers go out of business cause they can't afford to write the policies under Washington guidelines - Congress will have an emergency debt ceiling increase to keep the system running on borrowed money (absent reform). But how long to keep it running without a funding source? 18 months? 2 years? Kicking the can down the road. Ultimately, the GOP will be blamed for the economic crisis.
As of now, Trump has no legislative achievements to boast of. He's not likely to have any before the midterms. The tax bill, which could have been a huge success and why many people supported him, appears dead. Members are focused on saving their own skin, and the GOP brand, and owe nothing to Donald Trump. Kelly and Scaramucci

I mostly disagree with the MPR blurb criticizing Kelly for supporting Comey. While I am not a fan of that specific event, Kelly has shown himself to be a competent and, for the most part, conservative DHS Secretary. In addition, "The Mooch" had to go. He was a big-mouth and a distraction (as Newt Gingrich said, he was full of himself). Also, Kelly has good relations with Bannon, who was worried Trump would appoint a Democrat to the Chief of Staff position.[31] --1990'sguy (talk) 23:09, 31 July 2017 (EDT)

Disraeli said, "Everyone likes flattery; and when you come to Royalty you should lay it on with a trowel." He kept Victoria out his hair by making her empress of India. Kelly's relations with Comey means he had some contact with him in the intelligence community prior (I haven't fully researched it yet,), meaning the White House now is being run by a non-partissn deep state establishment insider, a guy who is respected, too. This should be a good thing, and help Trump end the fued with IC, gain a measure of control over it, and weed out the Obama traitors and conspirators. Should take some time, but on the right path. Yes. My sources say McMaster is next to go to be replaced by Pompeo. Right now Mathis, Kelly, & McMaster are in charge. Fundamentally we're dealing with North Korea & Iran simultaneously. Once NK is resolved and the focus is back on the Middle East & Iran, look for McMaster to go, cause the Mathis/Kelly/McMaster triad is at odds with Trump's preferred Russia-Iran approach. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 21:01, 3 August 2017 (EDT)

Scaramucci was interviewed today, and he attacked not only Steve Bannon, but also Breitbart News -- both of them because they are influencing trump to take conservative positions. Nothing about Imran Awan on MPR. There certainly should be. Modern-day Canaanites: A message to our secularist readers

I have been reading around the internet, and I have noticed how many secularists are claiming that the discovery of modern-day descendants of Canaanites somehow disproves the Bible.

This is a false claim, and this discovery actually shows that the Bible is correct.

The Bible makes it clear that many Canaanites survived the Israelites, mainly because of the sinful practices of the Israelites in disobeying God's command to wipe them out because of their sin. One can see this in Joshua 9, where the Gibeonites tricked the Israelites into not killing them. Joshua 17:12-13 also shows that the Israelites used the Canaanites for slave labor, rather than killing them. Also, read Judges 1:27 - 2:5, especially 2:1-5, where God explicitly states that the Canaanites would never be driven out of the land. The Bible records the Canaanites as being alive and used for slave labor as late as the monarchy period of Israel: 1 Kings 9:20-21. The Israelites were intermarrying with the Canaanites after the Babylonian exile, as late as the 500-400s BC: Ezra 9:1-2.

Something even more interesting: Jesus Himself had some Canaanite DNA in him. Rahab and her family, the only Canaanites to survive the Battle of Jericho, were allowed to live with the Israelites (Joshua 6:22-25). She may have been a descendant of Jesus (Matthew 1:5). Also, Ruth, who was a Moabite woman (Ruth 1:4), married the Israelite Boaz and became a descendant of David (Ruth 4:18-22) and eventually Jesus (Matthew 1:5).

The fact that secularists are using this example to "disprove" the Bible shows how little they know about the Bible. --1990'sguy (talk) 16:33, 3 August 2017 (EDT)

Aye. Clearer heads would note the order to commit genocide and leave it that. JohnZ (talk) 18:54, 3 August 2017 (EDT)
The reason why the Israelites were ordered to wipe out the Canaanites was because of their sin. They performed many extreme acts, including child sacrifice (some of the Israelite kings adopted their practices when they rebelled against God). If the Canaanites repented, they would have been saved. The examples of Rahab (and her family) and Ruth are good examples of this. --1990'sguy (talk) 18:58, 3 August 2017 (EDT)

The Church of England has 16,000 churches and thousands of ecclesiastical courts. There are 418 government councils and all are secular in nature and practice. Muslim no-go areas are a myth. I'm assuming my source, a UK Muslim in a FB discussion group, meant to say Muslims made ballot status in those cities, but lost. But I have no way to verify that. Making ballot status, coming from a countries with non-democratic traditions, can be considered a victory, one would suppose. It also vaguely reveals targeting of certain cities and electoral precincts for majority status. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 21:50, 4 August 2017 (EDT)
Rob, what do you mean 'making ballot status'? If you mean being able to stand for election that's not really very hard in the UK which is why we had the fabulous Screaming Lord Sutch for so long before he sadly dies and now we have Lord Bucket Head standing regularly. The full requirements to stand for local election in the UK are listed here. Standing for parliament is slightly harder as the deposit required is higher, supposedly to prevent 'joke' candidates like Lord Sutch and Lord Bucket Head from standing. Happily we brits still have people willing to spend several thousand pounds on looking silly and Bucket Head still stands. As for the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, well this is she. Not really very muslim is she? Davidspencer (talk) 02:48, 5 August 2017 (EDT)
Here's the original source for the claims. We call it ballot status here, meaning you have enough signatures on a petition to get your name on the ballot. In 95% of the cases is best achieved by having an organized political party to do the leg work. I'm guessing that eligible Muslim voters have successfully organized some sort of party apparatus, and have successfully coraled a vast segment of voters into a bloc. This organizational achievement they may consider a victory, and the losing nominee becomes the "Muslim mayor", since the long range goal is to strip non-Muslims of the vote. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 03:35, 5 August 2017 (EDT)
There was a comment here earlier, now mysteriously deleted, that explained it doesn't work like that in the UK. Just as the comment from David Spencer does. I sometimes wonder whether some of the editors here are wilfully refusing to understand the UK. Rafael (talk) 12:44, 5 August 2017 (EDT)
Organizationally, there is a huge difference between European and American parties. American party membership is few in number and tend to be elected officials, their staffs and families, and few volunteers. A "registered" Democrat or Republican only refers to voter rolls in closed prmary states. We speak more of "party affiliation" than "party membership". IOW, voters are only casually affiliated with one party or the other. In Europe, as I understand, partyies are much more organized and require membership.
Last year I recall Europeans saying that that the GOP should boot Trump out of the party. This is exactly backwards. The primaries are elections for party leadership and direction, and no one can deprive a citizen of a their vote. While Democrats do have a cabal of insiders who can overrule a democratic majority in the primary process, the GOP does not. And the Democratic cabal is right now defending its election rigging through party by-laws in the courts. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 17:59, 5 August 2017 (EDT)
Aside, let me note the term "Democratic caucus" still evokes the image of "klan meeting" in the United States. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 18:15, 5 August 2017 (EDT)
It may be true that many Americans do not understand the UK (or Europe in general), but as someone with dual Swiss/American citizenship who has spent much time in Europe, I know that many Europeans do not understand the United States, maybe to the point of refusing to understand it, as you worded it, Rafael. They can't see why we in America have a totally different political philosophy which emphasizes limited government and personal liberty over uniting humanity around liberal values and advancing it towards the ultimate goal of utopia (one-world government; the epitome of big government). (we see the different philosophies when discussing the European Union, guns, homeschooling, environment, Paris agreement, etc.)
I think RobS should have researched the UK's mayors better (rather than relying on a guy from Facebook) before posting this, but I do think he is correct in a general sense: due to their liberal policies, Europe is being overrun by Muslims and people from the Middle East. The proportion is not yet near 50% overall, but is very high considering that virtually zero Muslims lived in most of Europe, historically speaking. The Muslim/non-European population is also quickly growing. The fact that London has a Muslim mayor is remarkable considering that virtually 100% of Britain's population was once Christian.
I see many similarities between the decline of Europe (I do believe it is in decline; America is also in decline, but at a slower pace and not as much as Europe) and the decline of Rome. Many of the barbarians entering Rome did not hostility invade at first. Many migrated in search of a better life in the prosperous and safe Roman Empire (they were being pushed westward by hostile barbarian groups). The Romans accepted them, but the barbarians chose not to adopt Roman ways and assimilate into the Roman society. They eventually brought the Empire down (the other factors in the decline of Rome also mirror Europe/America). --1990'sguy (talk) 18:22, 5 August 2017 (EDT)
The West has hastened it's own decline with technology, and principly two technologies: the aircraft which can move significant number of populations quickly and cheaply, and iPhone, which educates 12 year old Muslims who know no life outside their village or madrassa, that their future is in conquering the West as part of a larger Islamic movement of 2 billion Muslims out 6 billion on Earth to complete Allah's mandate of bringing everything under submission to Islam. Americans rarely stop to consider that the UK is so small that it would fit into Texas about 3 times! Similarly, Brits (who will largely know only the tourist enclaves in Florida, California or New York City) don't have a real feel for the comparative vastness - geographical and political - of the United States. I'm sure they unconsciously equate a "state" with a UK "county"! Where I live in England, I genuinely can't recall the last time I saw a South Asian (Hindu, Sikh or Muslim). I'm sure there are Black British people around here, but I only regularly see 2 or 3. Instead, the predominant immigrant population hereabouts is (white) Polish and Eastern European. Are they integrated? No. Are they wanted? No. They work for cash-in-hand (evading taxation) or massively undercut UK-born tradesmen. They send a large proportion of their earnings offshore back to continental Europe. They also claim benefits (including Child Benefit for children living in Poland!) and housing and free health- and dental care. Brits didn't vote for Brexit because they were worried about dark-skinned immigrants, they voted because they're sick of the white-skinned cheap labour flooding in from Europe. And terrorism? White, Irish Catholics from the IRA, PIRA, INLA and Continuation IRA have killed far more British civilians - men, women and children - and British soldiers and British police officers than the pound-shop jihadis could ever dream of. So, no, the UK is not really useful as a "canary-in-the-coalmine" for the West in general, or even for Europe specifically. NeilWalker (talk) 17:50, 12 August 2017 (EDT)

I am able to remember after all: about 10 years ago I was in a pub 3 villages over on Christmas Eve. A young South Asian couple who ran a small general store in that village were also in the pub. It didn't seem polite to ask them what religion they followed, but I recall they said they did enjoy the Christmas celebrations and felt that as part of the community they should join in the festive mood. NeilWalker (talk) 18:09, 12 August 2017 (EDT)
Where in England do you live? I often travel to continental Europe, but I'm sure different proportions of migrants also live in different parts of the UK (definately rural vs. urban areas). --1990'sguy (talk) 19:07, 12 August 2017 (EDT)

Liberal Double Standard?

Dr. Mourad Gabriel, a wildlife biologist, co-founded the Integral Ecology Research Center in 2004. He is a classic, environmentalist, tree-hugging, liberal who has been fighting the problem of illegal farming in California forests for years. Dr. Gabriel was quoted extensively in the referenced article about the dangerous chemicals being used on illicit pot farms yet for some reason there is a Liberal double standard as environmentalists do not complain? Any chance the opening could be changed to reflect reality?--GinnyS (talk) 17:33, 6 August 2017 (EDT)

Why aren't the politically active environmental groups and public officials expressing outrage about this? Where is the Sierra Club and Al Gore on this issue? The silence is deafening.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 19:20, 6 August 2017 (EDT)
The Sierra Club is not silent on the issue, of course. [45] Did you even conduct any research prior to making your unfounded accusation? As for VP Gore, he is only one man and his plate is full with climate change.--GinnyS (talk) 20:08, 6 August 2017 (EDT)
Finding these links took five minutes. Please notice the dates on some of the articles. Limp-wristed, pansy, liberals have been whining about this problem for years.[46] [47] [48] [49] [50][51] [52]--GinnyS (talk) 20:28, 6 August 2017 (EDT)
Everyone is expressing outrage except liberal politicians and environmentalist groups. The Sierra Club did not express outrage about the pot growers themselves, but instead made silly statements like, "Any agricultural commodity, whether lettuce or cannabis, has impacts." In fact, pot uses far more water and is causing far more environmental damage than lettuce is. Have you found a single liberal politician yet who has complained? Is Obama too busy also??--Andy Schlafly (talk) 21:32, 6 August 2017 (EDT)
Moving the goal posts are you? Apparently your definition of outrage means they must be foaming at the mouth and not making reasoned arguments. First you complained about environmentalists ignoring this problem then when I provided excellent evidence of your error you simply attached more conditions. Since you seem to think everyone except liberal politicians are expressing outrage, could you possibly provide any evidence for your assertion? Is President Trump just as outraged as you? What about VP Pence? Are there any conservatives who think environmental damage from chemicals and pesticides are even worthy of complaining about? If they did, wouldn’t that make them liberals?--GinnyS (talk) 22:19, 6 August 2017 (EDT)
In other words, there is not a single liberal politician or environmentalist group expressing outrage at pot growers for harming the environment. The implication by the Sierra Club that lettuce is just as harmful environmentally as cannabis is pure nonsense.
Liberals have a double standard about many things. The MPR headline is correct in providing this example.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 23:45, 6 August 2017 (EDT)
I posted many references about various liberal groups voicing their concern over the poisoning of California forests due to the illegal use of chemicals. You seem to be fixated on lettuce and the idea the liberals are not expressing outrage even though the MPR headline specifically states Liberal double standard as environmentalists do not COMPLAIN. Liberals are obviously complaining, I provided several links, how anyone could deny this fact is mind blowing. That being said, I can tell I’m flogging a dead horse. Goodnight. --GinnyS (talk) 00:06, 7 August 2017 (EDT)
GinnyS, liberals want the marijuana. Any complaints about chemicals will be watered down to include lettuce and any other normal cash crop.
The point here is that they want to get high. They been smoking the stuff for years just to get high. They demanded laws changed so that they could get high. A number of states recently legalized it, and now a senator named Booker wants it done at the federal level, so they could get high. And in order to plant the stuff they have to have places to plant it and chemicals to use, just so they can get high. And getting high is so important that they will demonize any other product in order to draw attention away from what they are doing. Karajou (talk) 00:28, 7 August 2017 (EDT)
I don’t think Dr. Gabriel and the IERC are watering down any complaints. From everything I’ve read about them they seem to encourage responsible stewardship of the planet we live on. Maybe you could show me otherwise with written evidence. I have seen nothing to indicate environmentalists simply want to get high and damn the consequences. By the way, marijuana can be organically grown, you know, without chemicals. What about cancer patients who partake for medical purposes? There are even strains of cannabis oil devoid of THC and some patients use this for treatment. Does it work? I’d like to see the results published in a peer-reviewed medical journal. Do you know of any? I have presented plenty of evidence to refute the MPR premise that environmentalists do not complain about illegal pot farming, yet my proof is ignored. Certain people, with lettuce fixations, want to make unfounded accusations about the segments of society they despise. I don’t care for your opinions, I’d like facts, and so far I have not been presented with anything that supports your contention.--GinnyS (talk) 10:47, 7 August 2017 (EDT)
What liberals have done to Standing Rock, South Dakota while whining about possible pollution.
I did not say environmentalists, GinnyS; I said liberals. Now you show me where the powers that be are doing more than complaining about stopping the illegal pot farms and the use of chemicals on those farms. Karajou (talk) 12:13, 7 August 2017 (EDT)
Ginny, why aren't any liberal politicians complaining? Obama controlled the EPA for 8 years. Why didn't he do anything about this terrible environmental problem? Hopefully you don't deny that liberals sometimes do have a double standard.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 11:06, 7 August 2017 (EDT)
You’re making this incredible easy. California Governor Jerry Brown. [53] Rex Bohn, a supervisor from Humboldt County, California. [54] I could go on and on whereas you on the other hand can only make utterly unsupported allegations. You would have a point about Obama if you could at least provide the slimmest of evidence he even knew about the problem. I have proven again and again how liberal politicians and environmentalists are voicing their concerns about illegal pot farms in California but you have never even tried to provide any evidence whatsoever for your position. The thing is, I never claimed some liberals did not have a double standard. What is so incredible about this matter is your original link on the MPR contained information about environmentalists working to fix this problem, yet you continue to go on and on about how the people you despise are hypocrites. Simply amazing. --GinnyS (talk) 11:35, 7 August 2017 (EDT)
Environmental activists cleaning Standing Rock. [55] --GinnyS (talk) 12:53, 7 August 2017 (EDT)
"dwindling number" is the key words in this story, which means most of the liberals who were there chose to trash the place and leave. That's your side of the fence, Ginny. Karajou (talk) 13:02, 7 August 2017 (EDT)
Please explain how ‘dwindling’ is synonymous with ‘most’. What about the conservative activists who were present at Standing Rock. Are you not going to mention their contribution? [56]--GinnyS (talk) 13:11, 7 August 2017 (EDT)
One, you have to name the conservative activists you claim were there, and two, you have to prove they assisted in depositing the trash. My standards for the second one is as small as a cigarette butt tossed on the ground. Karajou (talk) 13:32, 7 August 2017 (EDT)
I could spend hours of my life providing evidence to prove my claims, but in the end you and Shlafly would simply dismiss anything I post. Why do I say this? Because it has happened already. My first post on this matter didn’t require any searching at all; I simply read the reference Schlafly used for his liberal double standard assertion. Military veterans traveled to Standing Rock in solidarity with their fellow Americans. I suppose you want me to prove some of them were conservatives even though the vast majority of US military members and veterans like ourselves are conservative. One cigarette butt? I tend to think at least some people properly dispose of butts, even when they are military veterans participating at a protest. Funny how you want proof from me but you and Schlafly get a free pass when it comes to providing evidence. I’m done. I simply cannot be bothered to discuss something with people who refuse to acknowledge the possibility their assumptions could be incorrect. [57]--GinnyS (talk) 14:46, 7 August 2017 (EDT)
GinnyS, what you just demonstrated is called a "cop-out". A single conservative would stick out like a sore thumb at a liberal event, and if not named he would be filmed. And they would trash him as much as they trashed Standing Rock. What I saw from you was an attempt to give your side of the fence free passes to excuse your own behavior. That "dwindling number" mentioned above were those liberals who bothered themselves to pick up the mess; what about the majority of those smarter-than-all-of-us liberals who contributed to creating that dump? They protested an oil company on one side, while they shove a car filled with oil and gas into the Missouri River on the other. And on the issue where this thread started, none of us will ever trust anyone who complains about chemicals being put into the ground while at the same time supporting the cultivation of those plants that need the chemicals in the first place. And it's all because YOUR side of the fence wants to get high and stupid. So don't come here and play the liberal superiority complex over us. Karajou (talk) 00:57, 8 August 2017 (EDT)
So, because most U.S. vets are conservative means all of them are? I don't think any reasonable person believes those veterans were conservative. There is always a minority in different groups that sees things differently from the majority. Liberals and the media love to highlight vets and other similar groups at their protests -- it "proves" that there are actually "normal" people there. --1990'sguy (talk) 15:00, 7 August 2017 (EDT)
Ginny, you prove the basic insight of the MPR headline by saying, "You would have a point about Obama if you could at least provide the slimmest of evidence he even knew about the problem." The only way that Obama wouldn't know about it is if liberals have a double standard about the issue, and thus failed to complain to Obama about the immense environmental harm caused by marijuana. If Obama didn't know, then this point is proven even more than if he did know as he did nothing about it.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 15:05, 7 August 2017 (EDT)

A diversity firing at Google

Google fired engineer James Damore for criticizing its “politically correct monoculture” that he claims ignores differences between the sexes.[58] I feel for this case since I was banned from Wikipedia over a somewhat similar incident years ago. PeterKa (talk) 01:48, 9 August 2017 (EDT)

The media had it in for this memo writer and told as many lies as it took to get him fired: "Here Are All The Media Outlets Blatantly Lying About The Google Memo." If you think about the way they dealt with the charges against Bill Clinton, one must conclude that their sense of outrage is highly selective. PeterKa (talk) 06:04, 9 August 2017 (EDT)
Stefan Molyneux has interviewed Damore: "Google Memo: Fired Employee Speaks Out!." Men and woman really are different, and Damore is not the only one who has noticed: "Four Actual psychologists respond to anti-PC memo that got Google employee fired." PeterKa (talk) 00:15, 11 August 2017 (EDT)
One Google manager broke silence and was heard to explain to Damore: "You're supposed to capitulate to the segregationist-inspired group-identity-determined political viewpoint expression restriction process we introduced, not construct and show a model of it!" Peaceful God loving American mid sized city attempts to go 3 days without a murder

[59] A city of circa 600,000 has more murders per year than the entire UK (circa 65 million). Who has the problem?--MEarnshaw (talk) 23:10, 9 August 2017 (EDT)

Your post shows how ignorant and uninformed you are of United States politics.

---So the USA does not have a murder problem?--MEarnshaw (talk) 23:23, 9 August 2017 (EDT)

The world has a sin problem (see Romans 1:18–3:26, for example).

Once again, these murders are taking place in cities -- places run by very left-wing politicians.

See "At Least Eight Reasons Why The Talk Of North Korea Leveling Seoul Is Simply Wrong." PeterKa (talk) 23:55, 9 August 2017 (EDT)

In 2010, NK fired 288 rockets at a South Korean island.

Trump wins big against North Korea

It's time to call off Armageddon and declare victory. Whatever Trump's negotiating strategy was, it seems to have worked. China will implement the UN Security Council's Aug. 5 resolution by imposing sanctions that bite. How do we know that they mean business this time around? Because North Korea has already responded by dropping its threat against Guam. I put the blame for this crisis on China and Obama. The Chinese have been playing chicken over this issue since 2011, when they dramatically jacked up support for NK.[60] It's probably not a coincidence that 2011 was also the year Obama turned American foreign policy around, pulled out of Iraq, and decided to cozy up with Iran. Driver at Charlottesville riot - this just in

This source has revealed that James Fields, the driver at the Charlottesville riot last Saturday who mowed down an Antifa rioter, was himself not only part of Antifa, but was also a Hillary Clinton supporter. [61] According to the article, following the incident and Fields' arrest, his social media accounts (including his Twitter and Facebook accounts) were scrubbed of political content to remove his Clinton connection and the liberal media suddenly went silent about him, indicating that those responsible for what went down clearly have something to hide. Charlottesville

So a right wing domestic terrorist drives a car at speed into a crowd of people, killing one and injuring many more and somehow this is the fault of liberals? You people disgust me.--Jaris (talk) 18:43, 15 August 2017 (EDT)

Previously arrested for "beating his mother and threatening her with a knife"; "fascinated with Nazism, idolized Hitler, and had been singled out in the ninth grade by officials at Randall K. Cooper High School in Union, Kentucky, for his “deeply held, radical” convictions on race"; enlisted in the Army and reported for basic training in 2015 but was released from active duty just four months later because of what the military described only as “a failure to meet training standards”; history of schizophrenia; anti-psychotic medications; medication to control his temper... Doesn't sound like "a Soros plant", sounds like a seriously disturbed whack job with an inferiority complex who probably should have been kept behind a locked door. At least the military spotted he was not packing the full complement and hoofed him out before he could get his hands on the serious hardware. NeilWalker (talk) 11:29, 16 August 2017 (EDT)

Pro-life court victories

Two big pro-life victories today:

1) A federal appeals court ruled in favor of the undercover video maker who exposed Planned Parenthood's practices. I don't think we can view the videos yet, but the appeals court sent the case back to the lower court and said it should justify why it made the ruling that it did.[62][63]

2) A federal appeals court ruled that Arkansas can block Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood if it wants.[64][65] --1990'sguy (talk) 17:18, 16 August 2017 (EDT)

On the downside, free abortions for everybody, including illegal immigrants, is now state policy in Oregon: [66] --1990'sguy (talk) 14:30, 17 August 2017 (EDT)
