AshleyMadison.com is a dating website exclusively for married couples to cheat on their spouses. The site is owned by CEO Noel Biderman, a Canadian company called Avid Life Media and is active in 46 countries. Ashley Madison has 37 million registered users with 2.3 million considered active. They claim a discreet, secure place on the web to commit adultery. Their motto is "Life is short, have an affair."

Hacked

In July 2015, a hacking group know as 'The Impact Team' claimed to have downloaded all customer data. They threatened to release all user names and other personal information if the site was not immediately shut down. In August 2015 they released 30 gigabytes of details to the dark web, an area not indexed by search engines.

Among the details released include 15,000 federal worker email addresses, including the departments of State, Defense, Justice, Energy, Treasury, Transportation and Homeland Security. Others came from House or Senate computer networks. The FBI is now investigating for extortion. The Pentagon is involved because adultery is a criminal offense under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Among the corporate world Sony, Boeing email addresses exposed as well as "bank domain names to reveal 175 from Wells Fargo, 76 from Bank of America, 73 from Deutsche Bank, 51 from Citigroup, 45 from Goldman Sachs, 28 from PNC Bank, 15 at U.S. Bancorp, 14 at Bank of New York Mellon, nine at J.P. Morgan Chase and four at Capital One."

Josh Duggar of the famous TV show 19 Kids and Counting had his profile outed. Josh would issue a statement, "I have been the biggest hypocrite ever."

Hunter Biden, Vice President Joe Biden's son, had his account exposed. He made a laughable excuse, it wasn't him, it was the enemies of America who created it. The credit card used to establish the Ashley Madison account was used at the location of Georgetown University, exactly the time and place where Hunter was teaching.
