Wendy Jean Russell Davis (born May 16, 1963) is a Texas attorney and politician known for her radical advocacy of [[late-term abortion].[1] In 2014, Davis was the Democratic nominee in an unsuccessful gubernatorial campaign against the Republican Greg Abbott, who still hold the seat. In 2020, she lost a bid for Texas' 21st congressional district to the incumbent Republican, Chip Roy.

A Rhode Island native, Davis is a former state senator from Fort Worth, with service from 2009 to 2015. In 2013, she staged a state Senate filibuster in her effort to block passage of Texas' ban on late-term abortions.
