The 2025 Bourbon Street Islamic terrorist attack[1] was an Islamist terrorist attack, in the form of a rampage that occurred in the early morning hours of January 1, 2025, and left 15 people dead. The Texas - born perpetrator, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, born October 26, 1982, a 42-year-old U.S. citizen of Muslim faith, who drove a pickup truck into a large crowd on Canal Street and Bourbon Street in the French Quarter in New Orleans. The perpetrator died in a subsequent shootout with police.

An "obvious mass-murder attack by someone who was clearly trying to kill as many as possible — even prepared to kill with other weapons once the truck-weaponization component of the attack was completed."[2]

The convert to Islam who ‘grew increasingly devout’,[3] carried an ISIS flag and was inspired by the Islamic State and had Qur’an opened to verse promising paradise to those who ‘kill and are killed’.[4]

The mosque, the Imam

The Imam at mosque connected to the terrorist, Eiad Soudan, at mosque Masjid Bilal, (one of 20 Islamic Centers run by The Islamic Society of Greater Houston - ISGH), [5] had spewed hate against Jews, including Islamofascistic expressions such as: that “Hitler hated the Banu Israil so bad, because[sic] of the economy thing..." and added: “So those who say that only the Banu Israil paid the price — everybody paid the price, they say thousands[sic] of Muslims were killed.”[6]

Following the massacre, the Jihadi’s Mosque told members to refer inquirers to Hamas-Linked CAIR.[7]
