Ragnar Benson is the pen name of a prolific non-fiction Survivalist author that specializes in preparedness topics, particularly survival retreats, trapping, austere medicine, false identities, explosives, and improvised weapons. Many of his books have been published by Paladin Press. Benson reportedly worked as a private investigator for more than 20 years.[1]. Both Benson and Paladin Press are controversial[2], because actually formulating or constructing many of the explosives and weapons that he describes would be illegal in most jurisdictions. Some of his books have been banned ("challenged") from importation into Canada, by the Customs Canada censors. His book "Ragnar's Guide to Home and Recreational Use of High Explosives" was reportedly pulled from distribution in 1999.[3]

Benson's real name has not been revealed publicly. He was reportedly born in Indiana, and as of 1999 lived in southern Idaho. [4]

Incremental Gun-Grabbing of the Police State - Nanny State

According to Ragnar Benson, liberals and socialists support so-called "common sense" measures - a "good first step" of the Police state - Nanny state. To a conservative citizen-prepper-patriot Oath Keeper and to the Bill of Rights, this is "death by a thousand paper cuts". (See List of celebrities against Second Amendment)

Mr. Benson supports the Second Amendment Foundation and this video, which is the formal response to Hollywood's Demand a Plan gun-grabbing propaganda video. The video shows one of the main differences between liberal gun control Nanny states (Blue states) and conservative and/or libertarian Second Amendment-supporting "free states" (Red states). This video shows why conservatives and libertarians "vote with our feet": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBelF4UddcY[5]
