Sierra Club

The Sierra Club is a liberal American environmental organization founded in 1892 by John Muir. The Sierra Club is a coalition partner of the liberal coalition America Votes.^[1]

Their stated mission is to:^[2]

Explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the earth.
Practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources.
Educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment.
Use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.

By 2011, however, it had become a $100-million-per-year entity with declining membership and reliance on at least one multi-million-dollar deal with the corporate world.
