Louisiana Tech University is a Louisiana public university founded in 1894 and based in Ruston, the seat of Lincoln Parish in north Louisiana.[2] It was ranked a fourth tier school in 2008 by U.S. News and World Report magazine.[3] In 2008 is had a 23:1 student-faculty ratio.[2]

To the west of Louisiana Tech is the historically African American Grambling University.

Athletics

The women's basketball team has won 2 national championships.[4]

Terry Bradshaw played football for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs before his selection by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
