The University of Florida is the state run, public land-grant university serving Florida in Gainsville. The University was founded in 1853 as the East Florida Seminary. The enrollment at Florida is over 46,000 students.[2]

Varsity Sports Teams at the UFL are the Gators. Their basketball team won the NCAA title in back to back seasons in 2006 and 2007.
