Fordham University is a private, Catholic, Jesuit university located in New York City, New York and founded in 1841 as St. John's College by Reverend John Hughes, Coadjutor-Bishop (later Archbishop) of New York.[2] The name was officially changed to Fordham University in 1907.[2] The university's main campus is located in the borough of The Bronx with a satellite campus for preforming arts and some graduate-level studies in the borough of Manhattan's west side.
The school ranked #67 in US News's 2008 "National Universities: Top Schools" list.[3]
