Russophobia is an inordinate fear of anything Russian, the people, language, culture and a defining liberal trait. Russophobia has sometimes been used as a scare tactic to achieve political ends, for example during World War II in Nazi propaganda to support Nazi racial theories, or by the US Democratic party, Deep State, liberal media and neocon fascists to attack Donald Trump during the 2016 Presidential election, the Trump administration, the 2020 and 2024 presidential elections and the NATO war in Ukraine. See Russiagate.
Russophobia has been referred to as ultra liberalism.[2] In Western societies in the early 21st century, Russophobia became policy and an officially acceptable form of racism and ethnic hatred promoted by the Biden regime, NATO,[3] and the European Union.[4] Due to the Russian Federation having outlawed the homosexual agenda, Russophobia has become a political tactic of wokesters, globalists, and neocons.
Since the collapse of leftwing communism of the former Soviet Union in 1991, the Russian people and government's embrace of capitalism, free speech, democracy and reawakening of the Orthodox Christian faith in the Russian world, leftists and atheists in the United States and Western Europe have become openly and extremely hostile against anything Russian, the people, society, language, media, history, traditions and culture. Even the Ku Klux Klan, like their Nazi brethren and other white supremacist groups have also discriminated against Russians and other Slavs.
The Russian people never democratically voted for communists to lead their country; many racists and bigots mistakenly associate the Russian people and culture with the leftwing communist oppression imposed on the Russian people for 70 years, with no democratic rights, rampant censorship, and political correctness. Aside from the people of China, the Russian people constitute the second largest group as victims of communism.
Russophobia vs anti-communism
Russophobia should not be confused with anti-Communism, as critics of Sen. Joseph McCarthy often mistakenly do. The Russian people themselves constituted the largest group of victims of Communism from the earliest days after the October Revolution. As Alexander Solzhenitsyn said, the communists stole the Russian people's earlier February Revolution in the ensuing chaos following the fall of the Romanov Monarchy. The Russian people suffered much and where denied freedom and the right of self-determination by the Communists for more than 70 years.
Russians have also faced discrimination by many of the same people who also target other Slavic people such as Serbs, Slovenes, Croats, Bulgarians, Ukrainians, Poles, Czechs, and Slovaks. Russophobia often falls under a broader category called “Slavophobia”.
With the collapse of the leftist-controlled Soviet Union, which severely oppressed Christianity and espoused multicultural diversity, 70 years of human rights abuses were thrown off and a religious revival took place. In modern democratic Russia, laws, cultural norms, and public opinion have kept homosexuality illegal. Russia, its leaders, and Russian cultural traditions have become, since the Obama administration, a favorite scapegoat and punching bag for everything evil on the planet by activists of the homosexual agenda.
C.B. Forde, writing in The Postil Magazine, described modern Russophobia in the 21st century during the NATO war in Ukraine: "What we are really witnessing is the barking of violent rhetoric, all justified by blurting out “Ukraine.” In other words, all manner of hatred can now be concealed by the “morality” of supporting Ukraine. This violence has become a habit of mind among all the Canadian and Western ruling elite—enthusiastically repeated by Trudeau, as this speech bears witness. This is why the members of the Canadian Parliament all stood, cheered and applauded the Nazi visiting them in House of Commons."[5]
Modern Russophobia
Journalist Pepe Escobar commented on modern 21st century Russophobia:
“ | Russophobia is part of a broader agenda to impose a singular worldview. If you don’t adopt their [ Western ] values, especially when it comes to issues like family and culture, they seek to cancel you. And the excuse is always the same: you’re a “Russian agent,” or a “Chinese agent,” or a “North Korean agent” - they’ll label you anything to justify their narrative.[6] | ” |

Despite the German and Russian people having a long history of living side by side and being natural allies to each other benefit, there has existed in German culture a long history of prejudice against people with Slavic roots. Adolf Hitler, writing in Mein Kampf about his teen years in 1903 noted: "When the Russo-Japanese War came I was older and better able to judge for myself. For national reasons I then took the side of the Japanese in our discussions. I looked upon the defeat of the Russians as a blow to Russian Slavdom."[7]
The German Interior Ministry declared on March 28, 2022 that any individual who displays the letter “Z” would be liable for prosecution. The letter was displayed on Russian military vehicles during Operation Denazification that began on February 24, 2022.[8]
Ukraine
Ukraine has the world's only national Constitution that includes genetic (or ‘racial’) purity as a responsibility of the Government to protect and maintain. Article 16 of Ukraine Constitution says "to preserve the genetic heritage of the Ukrainian people is the responsibility of the state."[9] The cultural and domestic godfather of Ukrainian nationalism was Taras Shevchenko. This writer essentially formed the main line of Ukrainian nationalist ideology - Russophobia, elevated to the state level, to the level of the leading and prime ideology. A successor of such ideas was the ideologist of the OUNb, Dmytro Dontsov, called the dissolution of the personality of the "Ukrainian" in the nationalist ideology and collective consciousness of the nationalist movement "a great self-dedication to the idea." His works had a huge impact on the subsequent ideologists of Ukrainian Nazism, Shukhevych and Bandera. Dontsov, who, on the basis of the works of Hitler and Mussolini, developed the concept that Ukrainians differ from Russians not only in ethnic, cultural and linguistic ways, but also in racial characteristics.
On February 22, 2014, V. Yavorivsky, a member of the Batkivshchyna faction, introduced in Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada draft legislation proposing that standards of accountability for expressing personal opinions on Fascist crimes be abolished. Within days after the anti-democratic seizure of power, the provisional Maidan parliament passed legislation that declared Russian speakers no longer have equal rights with Ukrainians, legalizing discrimination against Russians. On February 24, 2014, in Zaporozhye, four extremists attempted to burn down a synagogue. On March 11, 2014, a bill was introduced in parliament by the Svoboda party proposing a 7-year sentence for speaking Russian in government offices and public places in Ukraine.
In March 2014 Y. Perebiynis, head of the Information Policy Department of Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Russians are not an indigenous people of Ukraine and therefore do not have the right to self-determination on Ukrainian territory. He also said that in Ukraine there are only four indigenous peoples: Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars, Crimean Karaites and Krymchaks. Ethnic Czechs living in Volyn and Zhytomyr provinces (there is an estimated 10,000 and 20,000 Czechs live in Ukraine) appealed to the government of the Czech Republic for repatriation. Chair of the Society of Volyn Czechs E. Snidevich said, "We fear for our lives. There are bandits who call themselves ‘self-defense units.’ Nothing good will come of this."
Beginning on March 20, 2014, Russians living in Ukraine started to complain en masse to the Consulate General of Russia in Kharkiv about pressure from Maidan authorities who demanded that they formalize their renunciation of Russian citizenship or leave Ukraine.
On March 24, 2014 a recording appeared on the internet of a telephone conversation between former Ukrainian prime minister and current presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko and former deputy secretary of the National Security Council of Ukraine N. Shufrich. In it, Tymoshenko said,
"We have only one way to destroy Moscow. This is what we live for, we have come into this world to destroy Moscow. And not just the Muscovite in our country, but the whole black hole of European security, and delete them from the world map. Sh*t, we have to resort to arms, and the G*d d**n Kazapi-Russians[11] together with their leader, kill. I will stir the whole world to action as soon as I can, in order that Russia, the s*n of a b**ch, no burnt field remains (scorched earth). You have to shoot them with nuclear weapons."[12][13] |
In March 2022 the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, a governmental entity, published in both Russian and English a series of arguments claiming Ukrainians are pureblood Slavs, while the Russian nation was formed through race mixing with Asiatic tribes, "the Ugro-Finnish tribes: Muroma, Mernia, Wes, Meshchera, Moksha, Perm, Narova, and others,” it stated. The difference apparently is “visible to the naked eye”. Despite the common language, alphabet, history, society, culture, and literary traditions, the Institute denies that Ukrainians and Russians are "fraternal brothers," and states that Ukrainians are European, unlike "russian nomads" (spelled with a lower case "r". Several cabinet ministers in the Zelensky regime make a habit of always spelling "Russia" with a lower case "r".)
In an interview with the Kyiv-based Interfax news agency in late May 2022, Oleksandra Koval, director of the Ukrainian Book Institute (UBI) which is part of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, estimated that more than 100 million copies of Russian language books would be removed from Ukrainian public libraries, fully half of all libraries’ holdings.[14] The city council of Nikolaev banned the teaching of the Russian language in schools.[15] The Ukrainian parliament passed a bill to ban Russian-language music.[16][17]
Secretary of the Security Council Alexei Danilov said on the air of the NTA TV channel that the Russian language must be completely eradicated on the territory of Ukraine. According to Danilov, the Russian language is allegedly hostile to Ukrainians, so it has no place in this country. "The Russian language in general should disappear from our territory as an element of hostile propaganda and brainwashing of our population," Danilov said on a national talk show.[18] Danilov claimed that the "narrative" about the need to reach mutual understanding with Russian-speaking Ukrainians is highly dangerous for the state. "To plant these Russian narratives here is a very, very dangerous thing. Presumably, we have to understand each other, who they are, what they are. Look, we don’t want anything from them [Russians]. Why don’t they leave us alone? Let them go to their swamps and croak in the Russian language,” he stated.
Danilov complained about a large number of Ukrainian political experts who regularly appear on television using Russian as the main language. In response to this, the show host proposed to create and broadcast a list of Ukrainian public figures that speak Russian. He also said that the state-owned Ukrainian channel Freedom will abandon the Russian language and start broadcasting in English. “I would like to draw your attention to something else – we have a lot of experts who go from channel to channel and use Russian as the main language of their communication. Moreover, they are rated in some studies, they claim, they say that they will go to the president, somewhere else. Look, the Russian language should disappear from our territories altogether as an element of enemy propaganda and brainwashing for our population,” Danilov added.
In October 2022 it was reported that Ukrainian nationalists tore down statues of Hungarian historic figures. Ukraine sperm banks advertised specimens from "pure blood' Ukrainians.
On November 10, 2022 the Kyiv City Council voted to remove the Russian language from the Maidan regime capital’s public school curriculum citing "national security."[19]
According to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Ukraine, which never existed prior to 1918, first applied to join the European Union in 988 A.D. (Anno Domini).[20] The European Union, which was founded as a coal and steel consortium in 1957, did not adopt the name "European Union" until 1992 A.D. after going through a series of other name changes.
Soldiers of the Ukrainian regime were given a leaflet from the Kiev Patriarchate that read,
"You are a defender of Ukraine. Your duty is to defend Independence and fight Russian occupants. Your duty is to wipe the Russian nation from the face of the Earth. Your enemy is the Russian World which was created by defective sinful souls. To kill a Russian is not a sin."[21] |
On September 28, 2023, Vovan & Lexus, the famous radio DJs and pranskters, posing as ex-President Petro Poroshenko, spoke with the transgender Ukrainian Territorial Defense spokesperson Sarah Ashton-Cirillo (American born Michael Cirillo, stated what is taught in Ukrainian public schools:
"Russians are not Europeans… Russians are Asian, and ultimately, they do come from the Mongols. They do come from a grouping of people who want to be slaves and want to be led, just as it was from the days of Genghis Khan. I wish the rest of Europe and the Western world understood that Europe ends at Ukraine. We are protecting European values and Western values the same way those did hundreds and thousands of years ago when the Mongols came in…. Every Russian that supports Vladimir Putin’s decisions are not human. These people are not human. They are enemies of humanity, in fact… we’ve been asking the Western world since the days of your presidency, sir, to make certain they understood the threat of these non-humans."[22] |
Examples
Russophobia often employs the politics of fear and demonization. For example, Congressman Adam Schiff made this statement about the fake news "Russian hacking" probe,
- "I think of a spider web, with a tarantula in the middle. And the tarantula, in my view, is Vladimir Putin, who is entrapping many people to do his bidding and to engage with him. And I would include those like Roger Stone and Carter Page and Michael Caputo and Wilbur Ross and Paul Manafort and Rex Tillerson."[24]
A photo taken of Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chyrstia Freeland at an anti-Russian rally caught her holding a red and black scarf representative of the Bandera movement, a Ukrainian nationalist pro-Nazi group. Freeland posted the photo with the scarf to social media. The rally Freeland attended in Toronto also had red and black flags waving. Red and black have historically represented the Bandera movement, which was started by Stepan Bandera, a Ukrainian politician during World War II who was accused of Nazi war crimes against Jewish and Polish people. Red and black represent the Nazi idea of "blood and soil." An iPolitics profile piece on Freeland mentioned Bandera and noted her Ukrainian heritage and influence in Canadian policy against Russia, “inspired by pro-Bandera lobbyists.”[26] Russian President Vladimir Putin said one goal of the Ukrainian special operation was to “de-Nazify” Ukraine. The True North reported Freeland’s photo justifies Putin's claim.[27] Freeland's grandfather was a Nazi collaborator against the Russians during World War II.
Gennadiy Druzenko, a Fulbright-Kennan Institute Research Scholar at the Kennan Institute and fellow at the Wilson Center in Washington, D.C.,[28] head of the Center for Constitutional Design,[29] a former researcher at the Center for Constitutional Democracy at Indiana University, and served as the Government Commissioner for Ethno-National Policy in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine[30] who now operates a war-zone mobile hospital in eastern Ukraine told a Ukrainian Channel 24 TV interviewer that he had instructed his doctors to castrate captured Russian POWs. Druzenko said:
"I have always been a great humanist and said that if a man is wounded, he is no longer an enemy but a patient. But now [I gave] very strict orders to castrate all [captured Russian] men, because they are cockroaches, not people."[31] |
Since 2014 when the Kyiv regime initiated the Donbas war against Russian civilians, some 500 doctors have worked with Druzenko's mobile hospital.
On March 27, 2022 very disturbing videos emerged of mistreatment of Russian POWs by Armed Forces of Ukraine. One video shows Russian soldiers with canvas bags over their heads and then beaten in the face with rifle butts. The prisoners are shot in the kneecaps and genitals, and they are left on the ground to bleed to death. Several vans then arrive at the Ukraine military compound in Kharkiv, and as each POW is removed from the van they are shot in the knees. A second video shows Russian POW’s lying face down in a paved courtyard, or compound, and then being shot in the knees from the rear.[32]
Russia is typically characterized in Western mainstream media as 'Nigeria with snow'.[33]

This myth was cultivated by Banderites in order to endear themselves to the Nazis (it never worked, as the Nazis rightly knew them to be only Slavs, while the Ukrainians went overboard to show assumed “Germanic” kinship, especially when it came to brutality, which often astonished even the Nazis)."
