Charlie Kirk

Charlie Kirk (born in Illinois on October 14, 1993 – assassinated in Utah on September 10, 2025, age 31) was an American political conservative commentator, founder and executive director of Turning Point USA, a group that advocates for low taxes, smaller government, and free market capitalism. Kirk was the target of Biden/Obama deep state entrapment on numerous occasions. Specifically, Kirk was targeted by the Biden FBI in the Biden regime's "Arctic Frost" weaponization of government against political opponents. Kirk opposed attacking Iran, and even told Trump that directly when they met in the Oval Office in 2025.

Kirk was assassinated during a political event at Utah Valley University in "a dark moment for America," said President Trump. "He's a martyr for truth and freedom," Trump observed.

The assassination of Kirk was a cowardly act of political terrorism, by which a sniper shot Kirk from afar, and then ran and hid. The public quickly provided thousands of tips to the FBI to locate the murderous punk, who is suspected to be a lanky college-aged kid photographed wearing dark clothing with long sleeves, a dark hat, and cheap, large sunglasses. Kirk was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Kirk lived by, and often quoted, Psalm 46 : “God is our refuge.”

Kirk publicly supported conservative and protectionist ideas, was a big supporter of Israel, Kirk criticized the actions of the US government in response to COVID-19. He was critical of critical race theory and the liberal assertion of a "scientific consensus" on climate change.

The United States Senate unanimously designated October 14, 2025, a "Day of Remembrance" for Charlie Kirk. A Majority of 118 House Democrats refused to support the Resolution condemning political violence.

Background and career

Kirk grew up in Prospect Heights, Illinois and became politically active during high school. Like the vast majority of Americans, Kirk did not graduate from college.

Kirk was influenced by Rush Limbaugh, "I started listening to Rush when I was a junior in high school." He said.

In 2012, when he was a high school senior, Kirk wrote an essay for Breitbart News alleging liberal bias in high school textbooks leading to an appearance on the Fox Business Network. At a subsequent speaking engagement at Benedictine University's "Youth Empowerment Day," Kirk met Bill Montgomery, a retiree more than 50 years his senior, who was then a Tea Party-backed legislative candidate. Montgomery encouraged Kirk to get engaged in political activism full-time. He subsequently founded Turning Point USA. At the 2012 Republican National Convention, Kirk met Foster Friess, a prominent Republican donor, and persuaded him to finance the organization.

Kirk addressed the 2016 Republican National Convention. In an interview with Wired magazine during the convention, Kirk said that while he "was not the world's biggest Donald Trump fan," he would vote for him, and that Trump's candidacy made Turning Point's mission more difficult. The Dallas Morning News described Kirk as leading the "millennial assault" for Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.

Kirk referred to Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr Zelensky as a "CIA puppet", arguing that the United States must restore diplomacy with Russia. Kirk stated on social media: "Trump knows the truth about Zelensky. He is a CIA mutt who marched his people into a needless slaughter."

In early 2025 Charlie Kirk just after President Trump resumed office Kirk said that the NATO war in Ukraine benefits the Ukrainian ruling class.

You have to ask a very simple question: who benefits from peace, and who benefits from war? The people of Ukraine benefit from peace. The people of America benefit from peace. Humanity benefits from peace. But then who benefits from war? The military-industrial complex, the oligarchs of Ukraine's ruling class...We should resume diplomatic channels with the Russian Federation. There is a temptation to simply say that Russia is a great enemy of the USA. We made them enemies ourselves. Instead, we should try to drive a wedge between the Russian and Chinese communist marriage. The Russo-Ukrainian war was largely unnecessary. A peace agreement was on the table. Russia became our enemy because it was an ideological enemy. That regime fell, and there is no reason to keep them as our enemies. When the Soviet Union collapsed, it took many very false arguments to keep Russia as an enemy of the USA.

In April 2025 Kirk told students at the University of Tennessee,

Zelensky is simply being fed talking points by our own intelligence services...Zelensky is a puppet of the intelligence services...Zelensky is not just persecuting Putin...He is declaring war on the Russian people...He is not just saying that Putin is bad, listen carefully...He is saying that Russian society is bad...This is how nuclear war arises...Zelensky probably blames the entire population of Russia for allowing another Hitler to seize power...'If this is another Hitler who came to power, Zelensky, then why are there so many Nazis in your army?'.

”

In response to transgender American propagandist Sarah Ashton-Cirillo's threats to "hunt down" and kill "Kremlin propagandists" who criticize the corrupt Zelensky regime, Kirk responded on air, "Are they going to murder, or try to murder Steve Bannon or Tucker Carlson, or myself?"

Assassination

On September 10, 2025, a few minutes into Charlie Kirk's speech at the University of Utah, Charlie was killed, shot while answering a question about transgender mass shooters in America. He was appearing as part of American Comeback Tour.

A sniper was apparently perched atop a building 200 yards away. Kirk was killed by a single shot to the neck artery in front of a live audience of about 3,000 students.

Reaction

NYT changes its headline on the Charlie Kirk obituary. From "right-wing provocateur" to "right-wing force".

Across the wide spectrum, political and even MSM, the murder was denounced, forcefully. According to The Hill, Turning Point USA, the organization Kirk co-founded and led, announced it received 37,000 new chapter requests in the 48 hours following the shooting.

Yet, it did take MSNBC several hours of backlash to fire commentator who blamed Kirk for the shooting.

Some leftwingers celebrated the murder online. Teachers have been fired.

A death threat on conservative congressmen Randy Fine was made by a commenter on X: "you're next."

Oxford Union's new president, George Abaraonye, celebrated it. "It's not the worst thing that was proudly shared on social media since the tragic murder, but considering his position, it is highly concerning and obviously reprehensible."

A fierce defender of Western, Judeo-Christian Values, of Israel assassinated — mourned by Israel.

In contrast, Kirk's assassination was mocked by Arab "Palestinians" Islamism sympathizers, just like on 911.

On social media, Ukrainian nationalists responded to the killing with "Being pro-Trump means being stupid and primitive,” user 'Olga' said on Telegram in response to by UNIAN, a leading Ukrainian news outlet. 'Epic,' a user named 'Ruslan' wrote in response to a video showing the moment Kirk was hit by a bullet. Another commenter, 'Volodya Yanik', said: " Cool. Super shot."

"First he rooted for Russia, and now he is dead," an account under the name 'Valentin Shevchenko' wrote. Some of the celebratory remarks were later removed by UNIAN administrators. Similar reactions spread across other Ukrainian outlets, with commenters insisting Kirk "f**ked around and found out" and wishing for him to "rest in pieces." The anger among the Ukraine funding lobby has been intense against Kirk.

On Sep 14, 2025, 19-year-old Ryder Corral was arrested after he destroyed a memorial for Charlie Kirk at Turning Point USA headquarters in AZ.

On Sep 15, 2025, the Washington Post fired opinion writer after posts about Kirk. The paper called a series of Karen Attiah’s social media posts after the killing of the conservative activist “unacceptable” and “gross misconduct.”

Mid-September 2025, Ilhan Omar faced major repercussions over insensitive Kirk comments with Mehdi Hasan.

Gretchen Felker-Martin trans author lost major DC Comics deal after expressing approval of the shooting, including the remarks: "Hope the bullet's okay after touching Charlie Kirk" and "Thoughts and prayers you Nazi bitch".

In August 2026, Turkish immigrant Islam ic bigot, DSA streamer Hasan Piker, was recorded mocking Kirk’s public slaying by singing the meme song “We Are Charlie Kirk” at a stop of his “Fear& LIVE” tour last weekend. Audience Cheering. After he finished, Piker told the audience screaming in delight, “that was the most surreal moment in my entire life.”

Incidents

Days before Kirk's funeral, 42-year-old man, Joshua Runkles, was arrested at the Charlie Kirk memorial event at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on September 19, 2025. Runkles, who was armed with a loaded pistol, a revolver, and knives, had posed as a law enforcement officer, claiming to be part of a security detail for Turning Point USA. Initially turned away at the gate, he later managed to sneak into the stadium. Authorities discovered his badge and identification were fake, and he was no longer employed by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. Despite the serious charges, Runkles was released on bond.

Robinson, Fuentes, and Kimmel

On September 12, 2025, the shooter Tyler Robinson was apprehended and confessed to the shooting. From inscriptions on casings, it seems he expressed messages categorizing conservatives as supposed "fascists." He was 'full of hate' before his shooting.

On one hand, the accused shooter Tyler Robinson lived with a transgender, yet, Newsweek reported he was influenced by Nick Fuentes before killing Kirk.

Utah's transgender facilitating governor Spencer Cox said Robinson held ‘leftist ideology’. Tyler's mother said her son had 'moved to the left' in the past year.

Jimmy Kimmel, host of the ABC late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live!, said on the September 15 episode of his show that "we hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them". The baseless implication about the shooter being MAGA made its way from viral tweets to millions of TV viewers. The conspiracy theory about a right-wing shooter was pushed by several Democratic members of Congress, and others. The claim in leftist circles was that the shooter was a follower of Nick Fuentes. Sundance of The Conservative Treehouse wrote:

Memorial Service

A memorial service was held September 21, 2025 at the State Farm Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona, the home of the NFL Arizona Cardinals with over 200,000 people in overflow capacity. Honored guests and speakers included Erika Kirk, President Donald Trump, VP JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson. Jack Posobiec and Donald Trump Jr., among others.

The Department of Homeland Security designated the service as a top-level security event, akin to the Super Bowl with between 500 and 800 Secret Service officers deployed to the Phoenix area.

Earlier criticism

Turning Point USA allegedly was originally influenced or controlled by the Koch network, siding with it on several fundamental issues. For example, Kirk was said to have endorsed the Koch network-funded project to convene an Article V convention called the "Convention of States," which would open the door to a rewriting of the U.S. Constitution. Charlie Kirk previously expressed support for same-sex marriage and same-sex couples adopting children.
