Harley Edwin Rouda, Jr. (born December 10, 1961 (age 63)) is a lawyer and establishment Democrat currently representing California's 48th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives.

U.S. House of Representatives

2018 election

Rouda ran for election to the United States House of Representatives in the 2018 Midterm elections, supposedly defeating Republican then-incumbent Dana Rohrabacher by seven points.[1] This had been after several thousand ballots were "discovered" past the election day;[2] voter fraud had been suspected that election cycle.[3] A later analysis revealed that statewide ballot harvesting had favored Democrat candidates.[4]

Rouda has flip-flopped[5] over previous far-left positions,[6] such as on Medicare for All.[7] His campaign has also accused the Pulitzer Prize-winning moderator for a debate between him and Rohrabacher of being a "hack".[8]

Tenure

Despite having campaigned on a supposedly moderate platform to get into office,[9] Rouda is a highly partisan Democrat who has voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time.[10]

Rep. Rouda voted in favor of the far-left Equality Act.[11]

Rouda voted in mid-July 2019 in favor of a time-wasting House resolution to condemn President Trump's "racist" comments.[12]

Rouda voted for the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2019.[13]

Rouda supported[14] and voted in favor of[15] the impeachment coup against Donald Trump. This was despite having been elected on insisting that he's "not going there to impeach Donald Trump,"[16] and having repeated that assertion in April 2019.[17]

In mid-February 2020, Rouda joined all but one member of his party in voting to remove the ratification deadline for the ERA.[18]

Rouda co-sponsored a resolution introduced by far-left Democrat Grace Meng to condemn the use of the term "China virus" as being "racist".[19]

In early May 2020 amidst the CCP pandemic, Rouda was spotted on a beach despite denouncing keeping them open.[20]

Rouda voted in favor of the pork-filled, highly partisan HEROES Act.[21]

Rouda voted for the Great American Outdoors Act.[22]

Rouda has ridicuously compared Donald Trump to Hitler over strong criticisms of the lamestream media;[23] note that totalitarian dictators usually do not by any means allow for the media to report negatively on them.

Despite praising workplace retirement plans and calling health care "a right for every American", Rouda has terminated 401(k) benefits and cut health care funding as a real estate executive.[24][25] His companies also were subjected to tax liens amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars, as documents show.[26]

Rouda lost re-election in 2020 to Republican Michelle Steel.[27]

Controversies

Rouda apparently had attended racist parties while in college.[28]

It was reported in late September 2020 that Rouda apparently had a restraining order filed against him by his own mother.[29]

Rouda allegedly had hired a violent criminal to stalk on his 2020 Republican opponent Michelle Steel.[30]
