Gary Charles Peters (born December 1, 1958 (age 67)) is the junior senator from Michigan. He is a member of the Democratic Party and was elected in November 2014 to the United States Senate, having previously served as a U.S. representative from the state's 14th congressional district. Peters is a Trump-Russia hoaxer.

Military service

Peters at age 34 volunteered for the U.S. Navy Reserve and served for over ten years at the Selfridge Air National Guard Base.[1]

U.S. Senate

Peters serves on the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation; the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; the Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship; and the Joint Economic Committee.

In late February 2020, Peters and other Senate Democrats have attempted to block a GOP probe that would investigate Hunter Biden despite the latter's corrupt ties to Burisma Holdings.[2]

Political views

While ranked by some as a moderate Democrat,[3] Peters is a liberal who supports unrestricted abortion, stimulus spending, and raising the minimum wage.[4]

Hypocrisy

Despite being a gun owner,[5] Peters leans towards the gun-grabbing left and supports universal background checks in addition to joining the Chris Murphy gun control filibuster.[6]
