Abby Lea Finkenauer (born December 27, 1988 (age 37)) is a left-wing Democrat politician serving as the current U.S. representative from Iowa's 1st district, having previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives.
Iowa House of Representatives
Beyond being staunchly pro-abortion, Finkenauer voted in March 2016 against banning the sale of fetal tissue.[1]
In April 2017, Finkenauer voted against prohibiting abortion after the 20th week of pregnancy.[2]
Finkenauer voted with the majority of her party line in April 2018 against requiring law enforcement agencies to comply with ICE detainer requests.[3]
U.S. House of Representatives
2018 election
Finkenauer was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2018, defeating Republican then-incumbent Rod Blum by just over 5% of the vote.[4]
Tenure
Finkenauer voted in May 2019 along with her party line in favor of the globalist, left-wing Climate Action Now Act.[5]
Finkenauer voted in favor of the radical Equality Act on May 17, 2019.[6]
Known for being a snowflake, Finkenauer wasted taxpayer dollars in using her time concurring with the House Democrat majority in condemning Donald Trump's comments deemed by them to be “racist”.[7]
Finkenauer voted in favor of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2019.[8]
Rep. Finkenauer supported the impeachment coup against Donald Trump, initially announcing support for the inquiry in September 2019[9] and later voting along with her party line on both articles to impeach the president.[10]
Finkanuer voted in favor of the left-wing, wishful thinking-based Lower Drug Costs Now Act, also known as H.R.3.[11]
After President Trump led a swift and decisive foreign policy move to successfully kill Qasem Soleimani, Finkenauer joined her outraged Democrat colleagues in voting for a bill to limit Trump's power to authorize military power against Iran.[12]
Finkenauer co-sponsored legislation in February 2020 to express disapproval of the Trump administration's actions toward the socialist Medicaid program (not to be confused with Medicare).[13]
2020 election
Finkenauer lost re-election in 2020 to Republican challenger Ashley Hinson, a conservative news anchor and state representative.[14]
Political positions
Finkenauer is a leftist who supports abortion, the Obamacare mandate, gun control, and giving illegal immigrants citizenship.[15]
