Mahmoud Afana: "I Killed Ten Jews"
Mahmoud Afana was a notorious Arab Muslim Hamas terrorist from Gaza who gained infamy for his chilling and boastful behavior following his involvement in the October 7, 2023, massacre of Israeli civilians. A member of "Palestine" ("Ministry of Health" boss) Gaza regime Hamas's elite Nukhba forces, Afana’s actions and subsequent statements exemplified the utter depravity and inhumanity of the terror group.
October 7, 2023 Massacre
During the bloody assault launched by over 6,000 Hamas terrorists against Israel, Afana was one of the individuals who committed unspeakable atrocities against the Israeli people. He specifically targeted Jewish civilians and, in a callous display of cruelty, openly admitted to having killed ten Israeli Jews. In a recorded conversation with his parents, Afana gleefully boasted, "I’ve killed ten Jews," proudly showing off the bodies via a WhatsApp video. His callousness was matched only by the joy in his father’s voice as he heard the gruesome details. The father, reportedly crying with joy, was eager to view the slain victims of his son's rampage.
The video footage and phone call were later revealed during a UN Security Council session, further solidifying Afana’s notoriety. His admission of killing Jews, as opposed to the often-used phrase "Israelis," indicated his deep-seated antisemitism, a hallmark of Hamas's ideology. Afana’s eagerness to flaunt his actions and share them with his family speaks to the disturbing mindset prevalent among Hamas militants.
The Killing of Mahmoud Afana
After boasting about his mass killings, Afana's life was abruptly cut short. On September 6, 2025, two years after the massacre, Afana was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza town of Deir al-Balah. The airstrike targeted a Hamas stronghold where Afana was believed to be residing. Reports indicated that the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) missile struck the building he was occupying, collapsing it on top of him and putting an end to his life. The precision strike was widely regarded as a justified response to his heinous crimes and was seen as a much-needed retribution for the suffering he had caused.
Afana’s death came as a form of ultimate justice for the atrocities he committed. Many viewed the IDF's action as the final blow to a terrorist who had reveled in the murder of innocent civilians. His death was celebrated as a victory for Israel and a reminder of the ruthless nature of Hamas's terror tactics.
Afana’s Legacy
Afana will be remembered as one of the many Hamas operatives who participated in the horrific October 7 massacre, his monstrous pride he took in his actions. The video call with his father, where he proudly showed off the dead bodies of his victims, became a symbol of the hatred and barbarism that fuels Hamas’s ideology.
In the wake of his death, Afana’s legacy lives on not only in the victims he killed but in the broader context of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. His boastful attitude toward murdering Jews—echoed by his father’s apparent pride—reflects the core values of Hamas, an organization that, despite its rhetoric, has made it clear that its aim is the destruction of Israel and the annihilation of Jews.
Controversy Surrounding Afana’s Father
Afana's father, who was heard crying with joy as he was shown the bodies of the slain Jews, has also drawn significant condemnation. Critics have called for his direct accountability, questioning whether he should face justice for fostering an environment of hatred and violence. His response to the atrocities committed by his son—a man who proudly murdered ten Jews—raises disturbing questions about the broader culture of terror within Gaza.
Despite calls for accountability, it remains unlikely that the father will face any meaningful consequences, as Hamas continues to control Gaza with an iron fist, suppressing any efforts toward reform or peaceful dialogue.
