Kathryn Ruemmler is the former Obama administration White House Counsel who served between June 30, 2011 and June 2, 2014 during the so-called "Arab Spring," Libyan War, and Benghazi massacre. Ruemmler sought convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's help responding to allegations that she helped cover up an aide’s prostitution scandal, which emerged while she was under consideration to become Obama's attorney general, emails released by the Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed, after which Ruemmler resigned from her position as Goldman Sachs's top lawyer in February 2026.^[1]^[2]^[3]

In 2019 Ruemmler co-chaired the firm of Latham and Watkins' white-collar crime division and represented former Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice whom she worked with in the White House.

Previously, Ruemmler worked with Andrew Weissmann on the Enron Task Force.
