Fake news in American media: Chinese Communists claim that reporting the Wuhan Coronavirus is "racist".[1]

As the Global CCP pandemic shook the world, the CCP propaganda war in Western media came back to life.

The Chinese Communist Party attempted to shift the blame for the Global CCP pandemic away from the leftist authoritarian regime and towards the United States. Chinese state-controlled media repeatedly spread the idea that there was a controversy over the origins of the Wuhan virus which a scientific expert consensus agrees arose in the Hubai Province of China in November 2019.

The U.S. fake news mainstream media played right into the Chinese communists' hand. The eagerness of some leftward groups to call President Trump racist over his use of the term 'Wuhan virus' fed into a coordinated Chinese propaganda tactic, what analysts called 'the weaponization of wokeness'.[2] The tactic was as simple as it is effective: to turn NeverTrump resistance movement into mouthpieces for CCP propaganda by deploying the language of Western political correctness in the service of the Chinese Communist Party interests.

Criticism of China, according to the CCP's interpretation, is inherently bigoted. Instead of standing behind the principle of journalistic freedom, elements in the American Left rallied behind China's allegations of racism. This tactic presents unique problems, as it seeks to conflate the Chinese Communist Party with the Chinese people themselves. President Trump noted it is important to differentiate between criticism of the regime's actions during the outbreak, and a general attitude towards the country and its people.

CCP misinformation

The first case of COVID-19 was medically verified in China on December 8, 2019 and first death occurred on December 9. The doctor who reported on the first verified cases posted on social media was forced to plead guilty to "rumormongering" and disrupting social order in late December 2019. The Beijing central government attempted to hide the outbreak from the people of Wuhan and the world. The Chinese Communist Party finally admitted publicly that a full blown pandemic was occurring in Wuhan on January 23, 2020. The doctor who first warned the public was convicted of a crime for doing so, died on February 6, 2020.[3] News of Dr Li's death became the top-read topic on China's microblogging site Weibo within hours, with over 1.5 billion views.[4]

The pandemic spread as a result of human-to-human transmission beginning in Wuhan. As it metastasized, the World Health Organization (WHO) parroted the Chinese Communist Party line that the Wuhan virus could not be passed from one human to another, and that it was “racist” to refer to the virus by its place of origin.[5]

False claims by the Foreign Ministry

Official Chinese state run media reported that the coronavirus started in the United States.[6][7] A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry asked:[8]

"When did patient zero begin in US? How many people are infected? What are the names of the hospitals? It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan. Be transparent! Make public your data! US owe us an explanation!" - Reuters'

The Chinese communists demanded an apology.[9] While the CCP propaganda boasted of its aid to 82 countries outside China,[10] reports emerged of defective coronavirus test kits that China distributed to Italy,[11] Spain, Ukraine[12] and throughout Europe.[13]

However, liberal media in the United States were only too willing incorporate CCP propaganda into their NeverTrump agenda; CNN's Jim Acosta became a mouthpiece for the Chinese communist government.[14] Leftist media in the aided Chinese propaganda efforts by calling those who link the virus' origin to China as "racists".[15][16] The Atlantic, a formerly respected, prestigious, and influential publication among Washington elites has become an apologist and mouthpiece for the brutal authoritarian regime.[17] In China, critics of the CCP’s handling of the Wuhan virus simply disappeared.[18]

Other international news organizations were having none of it; Indian reporters pulled no punches about the CCP exporting the CCP virus to the entire world.[19][20]

CCP kicks out American journalists

In an effort to "control the narrative" the CCP kicked out three major American news agencies, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal in March 2020.[21] The Democratic party and liberal media only too willingly pushed Chinese communist propaganda on the source of the global pandemic.[22][23]

To curry favor The New York Times jumped onboard the CCP propaganda train and dutifully blamed Donald Trump and Christians for the ChiCom flu.[24]

History

For a more detailed treatment, see Maoism.
The New York Times reported:[25]

Most Americans who have visited Red China are accused of arriving at their judgements according to previously held prejudices. None denies, however, that in Communist China they have found matters of law and order, public health, equitable distribution of food and wealth, and other operations of Government carried out with greater earnestness and success than elsewhere in China or in most of Asia. . .
Another certainty is that the idea they represent, the hope they hold for the landless, overtaxed Chinese peasant, is not one that can be destroyed by force. . .

By 1956, during the Three Years of Disasters, U.S. Ambassador Joseph C. Grew commented,

The appalling figures on murders committed by the Beijing Communist government are neither propaganda, exaggerations nor guesses. Since the Communists drove Chiang Kai-shek and the Nationalists off the mainland in 1949, official accounts in Red newspapers have listed the executions of millions of Chinese. . .
. . . The real total of Chinese deaths administered by Beijing probably would total a great deal more than the estimates. Few Chinese marked for death by Beijing had a chance to escape their executioners. The Communists masked their real intentions with a deceptively mild, restrained and orderly entry to power.[26][27]

In a September 2019 tweet, The New York Times praised Mao and reminded viewers of its past positive coverage of Mao.[28]

  3. Excerpted: [NTD Beijing, February 07, 2020] Dr. Wenliang Li , who first announced Wuhan pneumonia, died at the age of 34 on the evening of the 6th due to improper treatment of a new coronavirus infection. His death ignited a new wave of angry tsunami among the public over the CCP's concealment. After Li Wenliang's death was exposed on the Internet, the authorities, under pressure from public opinion, pretended to rescue the whole person, and performed 3 hours of chest compressions and electric shocks on the dead Li Wenliang, causing his ribs to be completely broken and beyond recognition .
On February 7th, an independent economist, "Financial Cold Eye" (@charles984681), tweeted that the hospital director was afraid that Li Wenliang's death would lead to public outrage. After 3 hours of death, he was continuously subjected to CPR, which is the shock of cardiac resuscitation. It usually takes only a few minutes. After three hours, Li Wenliang's ribs were completely broken and beyond recognition .
Tweet that Dr. Li was wronged alive, and he was abused after his death! With the worst of malice, I can't imagine how despicable these devil behavior is.
In this regard, many netizens have commented:
    "Too evil!"
"Under the autocratic system, the people of Li Min are nothing but the servants of the nobles."
"It is most likely a premeditated murder. This person has become a serious trouble for the nobles!"
