John McCain And J. D. Hayworth Come Out Swinging In Arizona Senate Debate.
"It's really sad to see John McCain, who should be revered as a statesman, basically reduced to a political shape-shifter, John, you've changed positions so much in this campaign maybe we'll have to set up an extra podium for you depending on which John McCain is going to answer which question." Hayworth said. And so it was for an hour as Hayworth lobbed a number of one-liners toward Arizona's senior senator, McCain, who has a very comfortable advantage in fundraising and polling less than two weeks before early voting begins. McCain's reply: "There he goes again. Facts are stubborn things. These are the facts," McCain said. "J.D. Hayworth was a lobbyist. He was in late-night infomercials. He said he didn't do due diligence. My God man, didn't you know that this was a group that was taking people's money to say it could give them free (government) money...No one can say they're a conservative when they engage in that kind of activity." Armed Escorts to Accompany New Mexico Livestock Inspectors. When inspectors in New Mexico begin surveying 32 livestock scales along the increasingly dangerous Mexican border later this month, they'll have armed deputies at their sides. Governor Bill Richardson recently condemned Arizona's new immigration law, but evidently believes it's better to escort state workers with guards then actually close the border. What about "lowly" citizens, Governor...don't they deserve the same protection you are giving government employees? [2]

Australia PM Gillard Sets Aug 21 Election Date. Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard on Saturday called a general election for Aug. 21, three weeks after ousting her lackluster predecessor, Kevin Rudd to become the country's first female prime minister. The election will pit Gillard's Labor Party, which came to power in 2007, against the Liberal-National coalition of center-right parties, led by Tony Abbott, who is expected to win. [7]

Obama's Failure To Close Border Causing Immigrant Deaths To Soar. The number of deaths among illegal immigrants crossing the Arizona desert from Mexico is soaring so high this month that the medical examiner's office that handles the bodies is using a refrigerated truck to store some of them, the chief examiner said Friday. When will Obama and the liberals in Congress stop playing racial politics and close the border? People are dying! [9]
More self-centered politics from liberals: Democratic Governor picks his own attorney to hold the U.S. Senate seat of the late Robert Byrd until November, when the Governor himself hopes to be elected to it. [10]
More Bad News For Obama: He's A "Hindrance" In Fall Elections!
Voters will go to the polls this November with control of Congress at stake. Yet most voters say when they pull that lever, they will be sending a negative message to President Obama, according to a Fox News-Opinion Dynamics poll. The poll, released today, Friday, finds that 41% of voters will cast their ballots to register opposition to President Obama's policies. 11% of Democrats say their vote will express lack of support. Independent Voters are more likely to say their vote will express opposition to Obama, 41%. A union endorsement has a negative effect: 38 percent of voters would be more likely to vote for that candidate, and nearly half — 47% — less likely.
Independents are more likely to back a Tea Party candidate by a 5 percentage point margin, and less likely to vote for a candidate endorsed by the unions by 21 points. [11]
Stalin Bust Sparks Outrage Among Small-Town Residents. The installation of a memorial bust of Soviet dictator Josef Stalin in Bedford, Virginia, next to Western Allied leaders in World War II has ignited a firestorm of controversy and threatened to tear apart the small town 200 miles south of the nation's capital. Critics want to know what Stalin had to do with D-Day, and say Stalin's murderous rule led to the deaths of at least 20 million people, surpassing even the number of murders under Hitler's bloody reign. [12]
Conservative attack ads against Iowa Republican Terry Branstad? Nope, just deceptive liberals pretending to be conservative in order to link Branstad with political trash Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi. $770,000. was spent by "A shadowy, out-of-state-funded group attempted to infiltrate the Republican primary for governor with distortions and smear tactics." Desperate times for Democrats, double-digit lead for Branstad. [13]
THE END OF THE POST RACIAL PRESIDENCY...
The very basis of Barack Obama's entire political career has been the assertion that he is one of the first examples of a post-racial politician. He consciously eschewed the notion that his presidency was notable for the triumph of a black politician and focused, instead, on what it said about the irrelevance of race to the political process. Now, Obama is letting his supporters strip away his image of a post-racial president by their increasingly racial rhetoric and his support for radical black activists. [14]
Latest poll for Presidential Candidates, 2012: "For the first time [for the Republican nominee,] Newt Gingrich is the leader in this poll with 23%, followed by Mike Huckabee at 21%, Mitt Romney at 19%, Palin at 17%, and Ron Paul at 7%." [15]
"The broadest overhaul of U.S. financial rules since the Great Depression won final approval in the Senate on Thursday. Yet over 70 percent of Americans know nothing about the legislation." [16]
House Democrats Insert Gay Rights into Immigration Debate. House Democrats are trying to broaden support for immigration reform by reaching out to the gay and lesbian community with a provision in immigration legislation that would allow gay and lesbian Americans to bring foreign sex partners home to the United States. This is reason #978 that Obamageddon is getting closer every day.
Domestic incidents, Drunk driving, Divorce...the Kennedy saga lives on. Global warming activist Robert Kennedy Jr. who gave us such valuable insights as ' Bush is responsible for the Gulf oil spill ', has had a rocky second marriage and is calling it quits with a divorce. [17]
Newest Poll: Obama Job Approval Down, Few Think Stimulus Helped.
A new Fox News poll released today, Thursday, finds that just 43% of voters approve of the job Obama's doing. The president's rating has been hurt by declines not only among Independents, but also among his Democratic Party faithful. Among independents, 40 percent approve today, down from a high of 66 percent in June 2009. More than 6 in 10 American voters think the economy would be in the same or better shape if Congress hadn't passed Obama's economic stimulus bill, while a very small minority thinks things would be worse without it. GOP Leaders Call for Probe of Minnesota Vote. Republican chairman wants an eleventh-hour investigation into allegations of illegal voting by felons in the state's contested 2008 Senate election that Al Franken fraudulently captured. The move comes on the heels of a report by a conservative watchdog group that the number of illegal votes greatly exceeded the 312-vote margin that made Al Franken a U.S. senator -- and barely two months before the official records will be destroyed. [19]
The Scapegoating of Michael Savage[20] "The Powers that Be are inciting the masses through their own hate speech. When the leaders use the full weight of the government to crack down on dissidents, we're no longer in the United States of old; we've been catapulted into a netherworld, presided over by men and women who long ago lost their souls...This is because the progressives are a bloodthirsty bunch with an insatiable appetite for power, just like their forefather, Pol Pot."

The liberal State University of New York at Buffalo Law School plunges in the US News and World Report rankings and its emphasis on liberalism is blamed. According to Robert Doren, who graduated from the law school, the school has fallen below the top 100 rankings due to its "liberal bent" and its deterioration of teaching sound technical legal skills.[22]
Message to the dean of the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School from Conservapedia: If your students have poor research skills and have problems presenting a coherent message due to the prioritization of liberalism over logic and sound research in your law program, consider examining some of the more popular articles at Conservapedia and then asking Conservapedia for advice on how to create such works. Liberals are unable to find a single factual error in the Conservapedia evolution, Richard Dawkins, PZ Myers, atheism, and homosexuality articles and the current inactivity on the talk pages of these articles by liberals is no accident.

Sharron Angle Says Campaign to Defeat Harry Reid Is "God's Calling". Republican Sharron Angle says her campaign to unseat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in Nevada is "a calling" from God and that her Faith is helping her endure a fiercely competitive race in which Liberals have depicted her as a conservative extremist. "When you have God in your life ... He directs your path," Angle told the Christian Broadcasting Network in an interview posted on its website Wednesday. [27]
Greed & Envy In Liberal Land: George Steinbrenner, former owner of the New York Yankees, passed away...and liberals are upset that he died after it was too late to pay his estate taxes![28][29]

Important Message For Liberals: "We Are Coming For You."
Washington Post: Confidence in Barack Obama Reaches New Lows.
Four months before midterm elections that will define the second half of his term, six in 10 voters say they lack faith in Obama's ability to make the right decisions for the country, and a clear majority once again disapproves of how he is dealing with the economy. Overall, more than a third of voters polled -- 36% -- say they have no confidence or only some confidence in the president, congressional Democrats and congressional Republicans. Among Independents, this disillusionment is higher still. About two-thirds of all voters say they are dissatisfied with or angry about the way the federal government is working.
Obama's overall standing puts him at about the same place President Bill Clinton was in the summer of 1994, a few months before Newt Gingrich and his Republicans captured the House and Senate in an electoral landslide. [33]

Bioterrorism Experts Condemn Liberals Move To Cut Reserve Fund Money. A House appropriations bill calls for a $2-billion reduction in emergency funds, with the money going to help prevent Union teacher layoffs. Experts criticize what they call a lack of foresight. It's a symbol, they say, of how the Obama White House is failing to properly address the threat posed by a potential biological attack, which they say could kill 400,000 Americans and do $2 trillion in economic damage. Protecting against terrorism means nothing when Obama owes so much to the Teacher Unions, it appears. [36]

Terror Experts Blast Obama for Dropping References to Islamic Extremism. The Obama administration's recent move to drop rhetorical references to Islamic radicalism is drawing fire in a new report warning the decision ignores the role religion can play in motivating terrorists. In the report, scheduled to be released this week, counterterrorism experts from the Washington Institute for Near East Policy argue that the U.S. could clearly articulate the threat from radical Islamic extremists "without denigrating the Islamic religion in any way." Liberal double standard: Bill Clinton said the late Robert Byrd had a "fleeting association" with the Ku Klux Klan because he "was a country boy from the hills and hollows of West Virginia. He was trying to get elected." An understandably offended West Virginian responded, "fleeting association, that is like saying that Al Capone had a fleeting association with the mob in Chicago. ... I see a double standard in the forgiveness of liberal Democrats for doing and saying outrageous things, and in the treatment of conservatives when they do the same." [48]
Obama Pile-On: Holder To Slap Arizona With Racial Profiling Suit?

Michelle Malkin: On Whitewashing Black Racism....
"Why haven't national media outlets reported on the vile and violent rants of the New Black Panther Party (NBPP) thugs whose 2008 voter intimidation tactics got a pass from the Obama administration? Simple: Radical black racism doesn't fit the Hope and Change narrative. There's no way to shoehorn Bush-bashing into the story. And, let's face it, exposing the inflammatory rhetoric of the left does nothing to help liberal MSM editors and reporters fulfill their true calling -- embarrassing the right." Read More

Lamestream Media Coverage Slim on NASA, Black Panthers. Mainstream media nearly ignore recent stories on Black Panther election controversy and NASA administrator's comment about Muslim countries. Last year, it was Van Jones and ACORN that "slipped under much of the media's radar". But despite pledges to pay closer attention to the "polemic world of talk radio, cable television and partisan blogs," two new stories have taken their place in the annals of things not much reported. Only a few national media outlets reported the NASA story. They included Fox News, CNN and Slate -- and little else. The Black Panther coverage was a bit more robust, however the three nightly network news programs did not run the story. [75]

Widespread Support for Banning Full Islamic Veil in Western Europe. On July 13, members of the lower house of the French parliament are expected to vote on a bill that would make it illegal for Muslim women to wear full veils – those that cover all of the face except the eyes – in public places. A survey by the Pew Research Center’s Global Attitudes Project, conducted April 7 to May 8, finds that the French public overwhelmingly endorses this measure; 82% approve of a ban. Majorities in Germany (71%), Great Britain (62%) and Spain (59%) would also support a similar ban in their own countries. In contrast, most Americans would oppose such a measure; 65% say they would disapprove of a ban on Muslim women wearing full veils in public places compared with 28% who say they would approve. [79]

U.S. Plans Cyber Shield Against Vandals. The federal government is launching an expansive program dubbed "Perfect Citizen" to detect cyber assaults on private companies and government agencies running such critical infrastructure as the electricity grid and nuclear-power plants, and then be rolled out more broadly, according to people familiar with the program. The surveillance by the National Security Agency, the government's chief eavesdropping agency, would rely on a set of sensors deployed in computer networks for critical infrastructure that would be triggered by unusual activity suggesting an impending cyber attack, though it wouldn't persistently monitor the whole system, these people said. Liberal media In Action On MSNBC: On Tuesday's edition of Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough and his panel discussed the 2010 midterm elections and trashed Republican candidate Sharron Angle as a "mental patient" and a "jackass." The conversation, which included Chris Matthews and Mike Barnicle, began with MSNBC contributor Mark Halperin claiming Angle is "vulnerable" in the race because "she has extreme positions that are out of step with the mainstream." Barnicle asserted that Angle was "embarrassing" to the residents of Nevada and "sounds like a mental patient." This in spite of the actual truth, which is Angle enjoys a 7% lead over incumbent big-spending liberal Harry Reid. [87]
Poll: Independent Voters 'Disappointed' and 'Angry' With Barack Obama.
A majority of Independent voters are unhappy with the Obama administration and just over half intend to use their vote in November to put a check on the president and the Democratic Congress, according to a Fox News poll released today. Obama Illegally Backs Kenyan Constitution Allowing Abortion!
The Obama administration is offering incentives to Kenya to approve a controversial new constitution that would legalize abortion for the first time, promising that passage will "allow money to flow" into the nation's coffers, including U.S. aid. But there's a hitch to that pledge. A federal law known as the Siljander Amendment passed in 2006 makes it illegal for the U.S. government to lobby on abortion in other countries -- and three U.S. lawmakers say they want a federal investigation into the promises made by the administration. In a speech delivered last month in Kenya, Vice President Joe Biden urged the Kenyan people to pass the constitution in a referendum scheduled for Aug. 4. [93]

Obama Files Lawsuit Against Arizona Over New Immigration Law.
The liberals in the Justice Department feel the law "interferes with federal immigration responsibilities" and must be struck down.[96][97][98] Translation: The Obama administration doesn't want the new law enforced!
Here's what we get if it's not enforced...and the liberals in America are defending the following:
- A bill for $113 billion a year: [99]
- Death threats from Mexican drug cartels to an Arizona sheriff: [100]
- Islamic terrorists working with the same drug cartels: [101]
- Cartels using children as drug runners across the border: [102]
- The threat of drug-related violence to spill across our borders: [103]
Governor Jan Brewer slammed the U.S. government saying the suit is a "massive waste of taxpayer funds....the irony is that President Obama’s Administration has chosen to sue Arizona for helping to enforce federal immigration law and not sue local governments that have adopted a patchwork of ‘sanctuary’ policies that directly violate federal law. These patchwork local ‘Sanctuary Cities’ policies instruct the police not to cooperate with federal immigration officials." [104]
- And one such "sanctuary" city has already declared bankruptcy as a result: [105]
The thugs at the AFL-CIO want to further punish Arizona. They want the federal government to cut ties with Arizona law enforcement. [106] What exactly does the national labor unions want out of this situation is unclear, most likely they want more illegal immigrants as Democrat voters.

Obama Decried, Then Used, Bush Drilling Policies. Less than four months after President Barack Obama took office, his new administration received a forceful warning about the dangers of offshore oil drilling. The alarm was rung by a federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., which found that the government was unprepared for a major spill at sea, relying on an "irrational" environmental analysis of the risks of offshore drilling. Despite its pro-environment pledges, the Obama administration urged the court to revisit the decision. Politically, it needed to push ahead with conventional oil production while it expanded support for renewable energy. Another reason: money. In its arguments to the court, the government said that the loss of royalties on the oil, estimated at almost $10 billion, "may have significant financial consequences for the federal government." The U.S. Court of Appeals reversed its decision and allowed drilling in the Gulf to proceed—including on BP PLC's now-infamous Macondo well, 50 miles off the Louisiana coast. [109]

Soccer Is a Socialist Sport.
Soccer is the only sport in the world where you cannot use the one tool that distinguishes man from beast: opposable thumbs. “No hands” is a rule only a European statist could love. (In fact, with the web of high taxes and regulations that tie the hands of European entrepreneurs, “no hands” kind of describes their economic theories as well.) Soccer is also the only sport in the world that has “hooligans”—proletarian mobs that trash private property whenever their team loses. Forgotten no more: the meaning of Independence Day by President Calvin Coolidge,
and it speaks directly against the so-called "progressive" movement and liberalism today:
"About the Declaration there is a finality that is exceedingly restful. It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning can not be applied to this great charter. If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers."[123][124]

Today also commemorates the only true philosophical revolution in all history. There have been revolutions before and since ours. But those revolutions simply exchanged one set of rules for another. Ours was a revolution that changed the very concept of government.

No Concern For U.S. Unemployed In President Obama's Big Amnesty Speech This Morning...
Once again President Obama has shown that he considers immigration to be primarily a game of political calculation rather than an issue that deeply affects how many millions of U.S. workers must remain unemployed. The President's renewed call for massive numbers of work permits for foreign workers is an incredible slap in the face to the 25 million Americans who want a full-time job but cannot find one. Obama conveniently left out that in the past, America greatly reduced immigration during times of "economic upheaval." Instead during this time of massive unemployment, he stood there and made a speech for increases in foreign workers! [145]

The 100 Americans the Left Hates Most. "As we have watched the ongoing fight in America over the direction of the country, the actions of the Obama administration and Democratic Congress, and the efforts of the Tea Party Movement, the Townhall editorial team noticed a disturbing pattern: the American Left is trashing everyone who dares to stand against them. The more effective the voices that oppose their agenda, the greater the venom the Left spews in their direction. It’s this out-of-control behavior from our fellow citizens who are sold out to the ultraliberal progressive Obama agenda to “radically transform” the United States that led us to create this list of “The 100 Americans the Left Hates Most.”"
Phyllis Schlafly: The left is counting on Elena Kagan to play a major role in getting the Supreme Court to uphold Obama's transformation of our exceptional private enterprise system to a socialist economy. Liberal Congressman Pete Stark to Minuteman: "Who Are You Going to Kill Today?"
Stark mocked an opponent of illegal immigration during a town hall meeting last week, asking, "Who are you going to kill today?" before the constituent, a self-identified Minuteman, posed his question. "If you knew anything about our borders, you would know that's not the case. Our borders are quite secure, thank you," Stark said, drawing jeers. THE U.S. SUPREME COURT INVALIDATES STATE AND LOCAL GUN BANS BY A 5-4 VOTE!! [172]
In its second major ruling on gun rights in three years, the Supreme Court Monday extended the federally protected right to keep and bear arms to all 50 states. The ruling builds upon the Court's 2008 decision in D.C. v. Heller that invalidated the handgun ban in the nation's capital. More importantly, that decision held that the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms was a right the Founders specifically delegated to individuals. The justices affirmed that decision and extended its reach to the 50 states. Today's ruling also completely invalidates Chicago's and any other localities handgun bans.

Liberal Deceit Has No End, Apparently. A Washington Post blogger assigned to cover the conservative beat has resigned after e-mails he wrote surfaced that included vile comments about the very conservatives he was supposed to cover. The Post hired a liberal blogger and passed him off as a conservative, but now claims they had no idea he was really a liberal, and no idea he was really there to discredit conservatives. David Weigel's e-mails to Journo-List, a listserv for liberal journalists, were leaked Thursday. Harry Reid's Son Omits Last Name in Campaign Ad, and on Website!
In Rory Reid's first campaign advertisement for governor of Nevada, there is no mention at all of his last name. Instead, youngsters just urge voters to support "Rory" in the ad about education. The same is true on Reid's website, where even in the biography section there is no mention of his relationship to his father, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. The senior Reid is up for reelection in November, isn't very popular in Nevada, and finds himself in a serious fight to hold onto his Senate seat. Major U.S. Supreme Court decisions announced this morning:
- Skilling v. United States reverses the Fifth Circuit's interpretation of the "honest services" statute.
- By an 8-1 margin, the Court holds that there is no First Amendment right to privacy in preventing the disclosure of petition signers. The Court does allow signers to present individualized claims for concealing their identities.
The Court announced that Monday will be its final day of its Term, which means it will then announce its 3 biggest decisions then on gun control, student clubs, and patents.

Mexico to Arizona: "See You in Court"
No doubt encouraged by Barack Obama, Mexico files a brief in U.S. Federal Court claiming the new Arizona immigration law (Arizona Senate Bill 1070) is unconstitutional and promotes racial profiling!
Until recently, Mexican law made illegal immigration a criminal offense -- anyone arrested for the violation could be fined, imprisoned for up to two years and deported. Mexican lawmakers changed that in 2008 to make illegal immigration a civil violation like it is in the United States, but their law still reads an awful lot like Arizona's. Amnesty International recently issued a report claiming illegal immigrants in Mexico -- typically from Central America -- face abuse, rape and kidnappings, and that Mexican police do little to stop it. Dissenting were liberal Justices Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor.
"It is not difficult to conclude, as Congress did, that the taint of [terrorist's] violent activities is so great that working in coordination with them or at their command legitimizes and furthers their terrorist means,” Justice Roberts wrote. “Moreover, material support meant to promote peaceable, lawful conduct can be diverted to advance terrorism in multiple ways."
