Led by Laura Loomer, MAGA’s claim that “MAGA dissidents” like Candace, Tucker, and now Tulsi, as many of them consider her to be, are part of a “Russian influence operation” is discrediting, and this conspiracy theory is ironically similar in spirit to Candace’s conspiracy theories that they mock.

Outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released four partially declassified pages pertaining to US-funded Ukrainian biolabs. Readers can watch her announcement here, read the press release here, and access the documents here. There’s nothing new therein, just a reaffirmation that these labs exist and are indeed funded by the US, but her move set off another social media debate between Trump’s MAGA movement and what can be described as so-called “MAGA dissidents”.

The first is led online by Laura Loomer nowadays while the second can be considered jointly led by Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson. Former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center Joe Kent has since joined the ranks of the “MAGA dissidents” following his resignation that reportedly preceded what would have otherwise been his firing. Laura and many MAGA believe that Tulsi, who hired Joe, is also a “MAGA dissident”. Her unexpected biolabs disclosure sealed the deal for many of them.

Ironically, despite MAGA having been accused by the Democrats over the past decade of being a “Russian influence operation” (RIO) and Trump to this day still being seen by them as “Putin’s puppet”, Laura and many other MAGA nowadays conspiracy theorize that the “MAGA dissidents” are RIOs...." [2]

Most notably, he says it will prevent Iran from ever getting a nuclear weapon. But he hasn't explained how exactly the deal will do that. And the drafts that have been circulating, you know only mention Iran's nuclear program a couple of times. The rest of the document deals with the Straight of Hormuz, deals with sanctions, unfreezing assets and things like that.

And so I just wanted to ask him directly, why are you claiming that this particular deal is going to prevent Iran from ever getting a nuclear weapon?

And he said, well, if they try to get a nuclear weapon, then we'll just bomb them, which may be the case, but that's not the same as a deal that enforces it. So, I followed up by asking him, if there's anything enforcable in this deal, any kind of mechanism that prevents Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. And he kind of blew it off. He said, "Well, what do you want me to do? Sue them or take them to court? What kind of enforcement are you talking about?"

But the reality is, that the two sides are about to embark on a lengthy negotiation that will involve enforcable benchmarks. That would be enforced by the US, enforced by international agencies to hopefully ensure that Iran doesn't begin nuclear development again. And whether that negotiation will be successful is still up in the air, but it's pretty clear that this memorandum of understanding does not do what President Trump claims it does, preventing Iran from ever getting a nuclear weapon.

Reconstruction fund

:Para 6: "The United States of America undertakes with regional partners to develop a definitive, mutually agreed plan with at least U.S.D. 300 billion for the reconstruction and economic development of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The mechanism for the implementation of this plan will be finalized as part of a final deal within 60 days. All required licenses, waivers and permissions needed for the relevant financial transactions will be granted by the United States of America."

Infrastructure deals are extremely complex and very high fee and would require Iran to convey title of the assets being “reconstructed” to the fund, which is na ga happen. It is hard to see how the US, which has done the Gulf States great harm with its Iran war caper, has the leverage to get them to agree to pony up most/all of $300 billion when they have their own rebuilding needs.

So what does Iran do when the US fails to deliver on this commitment? The MOU already contemplates that Iran will regularize its control of the Strait of Hormuz and presumably charge fees after 60 days. We had said that Iran likely understands full well that the US cannot satisfy this requirement and might explicitly use this to impose fees at a level designed to realize $300 billion over time (as in use this explicitly with the Gulf States as an alternative to funding reconstruction). However, Robert Pape has argued that Iran will seek to maximize its power, and its highest value “ask” is for the US to withdraw forces across the region. [22]

Unlike Ukraine aid, the Reconstruction fund is not envisioned to come directly out of the pockets of US taxpayers. Waivers in SWIFT network transactions to pay tolls, withdrawal of economic sanctions, etc. are pledged. If the US needs to pony up any cash, it is offset by closure of US bases in the region, and adds nothing to the deficit.

Secondly, the denial of justice for the murder of the Iranian head of state, school children, civilian infrastructure, etc etc etc in a war of aggression is not a "conservative value". RobSWWJD?
