Hashem Safieddine

Hashem Safieddine (aka Hashem Safi al-Din, aka Hashem Safi a-Din, aka Hashim Safi al Din, aka Hashim Safi Al-Din, aka Hashim Safieddine[1]) (Arabic: حاشم صفي الدين, in exact transliteration: Hashem Tzafi Al-Din; May 3, 1964[2] – October 3, 2024) was a Lebanese Shia cleric, who was considered a candidate to replace Hassan Nasrallah as Secretary General of Hezbollah, and served as head of the council Hezbollah's operative since 2001.[3][4] Safieddine was declared a designated global terrorist by the United States State Department and was also designated as a terrorist by Saudi Arabia.[5]

Hashem Safieddine eliminated

On 3 October 2024, Safieddine was targeted by an Israeli airstrike in Beirut. On 22 October, the IDF confirmed his elimination after finding his body.[6]
