Getting Back Lost Jobs Could Take 5-Plus Years. So many jobs have been lost since the Stimulus was passed that the U.S. must run hard just to keep from losing more ground. Despite the election-year emphasis on job creation by both parties, the short-term outlook is bleak -- nearly 15 million Americans remain unemployed. Six million of them have been out of work for more than half a year. President Obama and his liberal sycophants in Congress can't spend more money and create the needed jobs, nor can they tax them into existence. What will they do? Perhaps they should read up on what Ronald Reagan and Calvin Coolidge did! [1][2]

President Obama's obese Surgeon General, Dr. Regina Benjamin, recently spoke in Birmingham for the first time since she was appointed. According to the Birmingham News, "she will focus on wellness and prevention as the nation's 18th surgeon general."[3]

Investment analyst Peter Schiff discusses the perilous policies of the Federal Reserve and an impending home mortgage crisis.[4]

President Obama may be serious about reviving the public option for health care which is a long shot and risky gambit for him.[5] However, the announcement of the renewed interest in the public option may just be a hard ball negotiation tactic where Obama demands an extreme position and then "reluctantly" settles for less. President Obama has shown an unwillingness to truly negotiate with Republicans in the past on the health care issue.[6] Expect renewed pressure to be placed on Blue Dog Democrats and on Democrats who are struggling to get re-elected.

The crowd's prioritizing issues: reduce government, 85%; eliminate abortion, 10%; stop gay marriage, 1%.[7]

Glen Beck Tells Cheering CPAC Crowd:

  • "The Progressive Movement is a cancer that must be cut out of American society".
  • The Republican Party needs to admit it has problem with big spending before it can get better
  • Beck rejected the notion that the Republican Party should expand its tent to include progressives/liberals.

Exercise in futility: Liberal Gordon Brown kicks off his re-election campaign in Britain. By June 3rd the Conservative Party will almost certainly have ended 13 years of liberal rule there.[13] Brown delayed as long as possible before calling for the mandatory election.

Conservatives use CPAC as rallying cry for midterm elections. Today attendees will hear from former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and a host of conservative luminaries. The conference will close with the results of a 2012 presidential straw poll and an address by conservative commentator Glenn Beck. [14]

The Dalai Lama Was Trotted Out A Side-door Past The White House Trash. Another dustup in the White House's Office of Protocol? The same folks who offered the near-blind Prime Minister of Britain a set of unwatchable DVDs now might have another mess to deal with: ushering the spiritual leader of Tibet out a White House side door along a route strewn with garbage bags. Was President Obama's favorite TV show The Beverly Hillbillies? [23]

Barack Obama, the toothless bulldog advocate of socialized medicine, signaled Thursday that an aggressive, all-Democratic strategy for changing the U.S. health system remains a serious option.[26] Republicans call Obama's bluff and cite polls showing significant opposition to the legislation.[27] It appears as if Obama is still thrashing around in his health care plan political tarpit and refusing to recognize that his health care agenda lead to his political Waterloo.VIDEO

DOJ Clears Bush Attorneys! Internal review finds Justice Department lawyers did not commit professional misconduct when they authorized CIA interrogators to use Waterboarding. The decision closes the book on one of the major lingering investigations into the counterterrorism policies of George W. Bush's administration. Nothing seems to be going Obama's way anywhere. America will never accept his un-American ways. [28]

Willem Buiter, Professor of European Political Economy at the London School of Economics and Political Science, predicts that between two and five years from now there will be a "global dumping of US dollar assets, including US government assets".[29] Previously, Mr. Buiter declared that the U.S. will lack the fiscal means and political will to stop strong inflation from occuring.VIDEO Please support the Tea Party Movement which is putting pressure on the Obama administration and the U.S. Congress concerning their profligate spending.

Tim Pawlenty's Principles: "God's in Charge": At the CPAC gathering, a 2012 possible presidential contender is among the few to talk about social issues like religion. “There are some people who say, ‘Oh, you know, Pawlenty, don’t bring that up. You know, it’s politically incorrect. Hogwash! These are enshrined in the founding documents and perspective of our country. In the Declaration of Independence, it says we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights. It doesn’t say we’re endowed by Washington, D.C., or endowed by the bureaucrats or endowed by state government; it’s by our Creator that we are given these rights.” [30]

A brilliant new liberal idea from the Governor of New York: the State should withhold the tax refunds for a while![31] Wow, why didn't conservatives think of that?? Because "it is totally reprehensible and quite frankly absurd," said State Assembly minority leader Republican Brian Kolb.

Liberal hate and deceit in the news again: just as they did with the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995, the liberal media is now taking the Austin, Texas plane crash into IRS offices as a deliberate attack on America by the Tea Party Movement: [32]

Mitt Romney blistered President Barack Obama for a squandered first year of policy failures and broken promises, informally auditioning before a key part of the GOP base for the chance to challenge the Democrat in 2012, at the CPAC meeting in Washington, D.C. Think Obama's getting the message? Jobless claims are rising, and Obama is conceding the stimulus isn't working: [47]

One week after passing PAYGO legislation [offset any new spending with spending cuts], Congress is set to exempt a jobs bill they're crafting. Maya MacGuineas, President of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget says it's like, “quitting drinking, but making an exception for beer and hard liquor.” [48]

Why Individualism Is Better Than Collectivized Government Power: In the critical areas of human conduct - education, energy sources and uses, banking and the currency - liberal-progressives profess concern for an abstraction called “humanity.” That concern is, subliminally or consciously, really a lust for power to control the world. [52]

A record-breaking 10,000 is expected for this year's CPAC. Mitt Romney shows up a day early, hoping to keep the momentum from 2008 when he won the straw poll there.[53]

California Governor's Race: Former eBay CEO Meg Whitman now runs dead even with the likely Democrat opponent, 72 year-old Jerry Brown. Just a month ago, Brown, a longtime California political figure, who has served as a two term governor and secretary of state decades ago, and who now serves as attorney general, posted a 4% lead over the neophyte Whitman, 43% to 39%. Apparently the coming "Obamageddon" is now dragging down Dem candidates in reliably Democratic states like California. [60]

47% Now Blame Global Warming on Planetary Trends. Questions continue to mount over the science behind years of studies that say humans are chiefly to blame for global warming. But reflecting a trend that has been going on for more than a year, just 35% of U.S. voters now believe global warming is caused primarily by human activity. Belief that human activity is the primary cause of global warming has declined significantly. [61]

Senator Barbara Boxer's seat is now vulnerable, and it may get worse: [64]

The arrogance of a Teachers Union backfires: A Rhode Island school district superintendent, fed up with an adamant refusal to do a half-hour more work while they were making thousands more in pay than the parents of the kids they were supposed to teach, tells every one of them what they can do with themselves in just two little words: "YOU'RE FIRED!" [65]

As evidence of climate science fraud grows, the liberal news media has gone silent. Proving yet again that journalistic integrity has been replaced by journalistic malpractice. [66]

Obama's New Muslim Envoy a Terrorist Defender!

President Obama's new envoy to the Organization of Islamic Conference, Rashad Hussain, is at the center of a controversy over remarks attributed to him defending a man who later pleaded guilty to conspiring to aid a terrorist group. The Washington Report on Middle East Affairs quoted Hussain in 2004 as calling Sami al-Arian the victim of "politically motivated persecutions" after al-Arian, a university professor, was charged in 2003 with heading U.S. operations of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The United States has designated the Palestinian Islamic Jihad as a foreign terrorist group as far back as 1997. At the time of al-Arian's arrest, then Attorney General John Ashcroft called it "one of the most violent terrorist organizations in the world." [67]

Climate Change Bill Running Out of Gas?' ConocoPhillips, BP America and Caterpillar's announced today they will pull out of the U.S. Climate Action Partnership, citing complaints that the bills now in Congress are unfair to American industry. If any (of the) bills are passed, they will result in more oil imports, the closure of U.S. refineries and the loss of U.S. jobs. Both BP America and Caterpillar were founding members of the group. [69] Is An Interesting Place If You Like Liberal Math. Thanks Barack Obama!

  • $272 Billion spent so far.
  • 595,000 jobs claimed to be created.
  • That equals "only" $450,000 per "job" --- most of them short-term![70]

Obama Returns to Campaign Strategy: With Barack Obama's poll numbers flat-lining, his agenda on the ropes and Democrats increasingly panicked about losing ground in November's election when control of Congress will be at stake, the White House is taking an approach that is more aggressive. Over-exposed and facing an increasingly hostile electorate rebelling at his huge deficits, tax increases and socialist agenda, President Obama is being forced to begin his reelection campaign earlier than any other President in modern history. [71]

Amazing Battlefield Miracle! In one of those rare battlefield miracles, an insurgent Taliban sniper hit Marine Lance Cpl. Andrew Koenig dead on in the front of his helmet, and he walked away from it with a smile on his face. "He's alive for a reason," Tim Coderre, a North Carolina narcotics detective working with the Marines as a consultant, told one of the men. "From a spiritual point of view, that doesn't happen by accident." See what miracles are in store for you....invite Jesus Christ into your life! [72]

JOHN STOSSEL: Freeloaders Should Just Move to England!

Many of our “leaders” want to make America more like Europe. When President Obama was in Europe, he praised the “social safety net that exists in almost all of Europe that doesn't exist in the United States." His socialist thinking leads to stories like this one: A single mother-of-six is getting more than £80,000 ($125,000) a year from the taxpayers to live in a £2 million mansion in an exclusive London suburb. Global Warming in Last 15 Years Is "Insignificant", U.K.'s Top Climate Scientist Admits!
The embattled ex-head of the research center at the heart of the Climate-gate scandal dropped a bombshell over the weekend, admitting in an interview with the BBC that there has been no global warming over the past 15 years.
Phil Jones of the University of East Anglia also allowed for the possibility that the world as a whole was warmer in medieval times than it is today -- a concession that may also undermine theories that global warming is caused by man. [77] Interview transcript from the BBC is HERE.

Democrats control the White House, the House and the Senate but need to point fingers of blame for not being able to enact their radical liberal agenda. The Huffington Post and CNN have the answer, they are calling for violence against Republicans for obstruction. This is simply more Liberal intolerance. [78]

Liberal denial allowed 3 to be murdered Friday: Professor Amy Bishop, charged with murder, had killed before and may have attempted to kill another professor in 1993.[81] Other liberals recognized her as a "socialist" but were in denial about how dangerous she was.

Another Democrat victim of Obama's failed presidency. Indiana Senator Evan Bayh will not seek re-election this November. [82] Liberals claimed he had a better chance than most of retaining his seat, but apparently not even his seat can survive the Obamageddon.

The message on dozens of billboards across Atlanta is provocative: Black children are an "endangered species." The billboards, sponsored by Georgia Right to Life, which also is pushing legislation that aims to ban abortions based on race. Black women accounted for the majority of abortions in Georgia in 2006, even though blacks make up just a third of state population, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Liberals have long supported Eugenics and abortion advocacy groups like Planned Parenthood whose founder (Margaret Sanger) was a Eugenicist leader. [85]

One of YouTube's leading atheists, Thunderf00t, publicly embarrasses himself again. Not satisfied with embarrassing himself in his appearance with Ray Comfort, Thunderf00t launches a "Bible for Beginners" series in which he mistakenly refers to the last book of the Bible as "Revelations".[88] Hey Thunderf00t, there is no book in the Bible called "Revelations". Next time you try to do a public exposition of the Bible, Conservapedians suggest you first learn the names of the books in the Bible, so you are at least able to cite them properly!

Happy Saint Valentine's Day! Keep the "Saint" in Saint Valentine's Day.

Global warming shocker! Climategate scientist admits no warming since 1995...or did he? [91][92] Note to Phil Jones: Part of being a scientist is allowing the process of falsification into the mix...and your own emails - the Climategate ones - did exactly that! And more evidence that global warming is false: let's have our happy scientists collect a lot of the data from thousands of weather stations world-wide, and never-mind the fact that these stations have been compromised by heat-generating power plants and urbanization and changes in land use, etc, etc: [93] They just couldn't affect the data, could they?

--- Liberal double standard: the anti-war movement "has gone strangely silent despite President Obama's intensification of the war effort. ... So, despite the flowery rhetoric and promises of 'change', in many ways, President Obama has instituted a more hawkish and more expensive war policy than President Bush. ... The anti-war movement has offered very little resistance to the Obama administration and the Democratic-led Congress. Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, and other liberal network personalities do not seem to be putting up much of a fight, either, compared to their complaints during the Bush-Cheney years."[94]

More than 23 years before a college professor was accused of shooting six of her colleagues, her teenage brother died from the blast of a shotgun she held in the kitchen of her family's home in Massachusetts.

Those are just some of the proposals put forth by the Climate Congress, an entity created in May 2009 to respond to the "climate emergency" plaguing the Massachusetts city of Cambridge. Just another blow for freedom being struck by liberals! [98]

Professor values kill three and wound another three: Biology professor trained in evolution "began shooting after learning at the University of Alabama faculty meeting that she was being denied tenure." From the French Revolution To Obama: There is an ideological continuum between Democratic/Socialist Party doctrine and the 1789 Paris mobs hanging government officials from the lamp posts and the slaughter of more than 70,000 French citizens in the Revolutionary Reign of Terror.  It’s called “change that we can believe in.” Darwinian evolutionary doctrine, along with the Marxism that so happily grasped Darwinism as proof of its political materialism, are direct outgrowths of French Revolutionary ideology and the educational policies espoused by President Obama’s close friends and political advisors Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. Support for and opposition to Obamacare remain at the same levels they’ve been at since just after Thanksgiving -- 58% oppose it. Only 35% of voters believe Congress should pass health care reform before the upcoming midterm elections anyway. 54% say Congress should wait until voters select new congressional representatives in November. 63% of voters said, generally speaking, it would be better for the country if most incumbents in Congress were defeated this November. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit in Philadelphia will hear arguments today in a case that centers around FBI agent William Shute, who obtained records 150 times in recent years to track the location of federal fugitives via their cell phone GPS. That feature could be a lifesaver if your car runs off a rural road on a dark night. But it also enables the authorities to know your location at all times when you're carrying your phone, raising serious privacy concerns. [110]

He Said That? What?

As Senators, Barack Obama and Joe Biden both opposed the troop surge in Iraq -- and Biden even wanted to divide the country into three sections. President Obama may have a shallow commitment to his recent promise to be more bipartisan. Political commentator David Broder recently wrote: "In hopes of improving communication, Obama promised to 'bring Republican and Democratic leadership together on a more regular basis with me,' and the first of those monthly meetings with Senate and House leaders of both parties is scheduled this week...The session in Baltimore, which followed the shock of the Democrats losing the Kennedy seat in Massachusetts, has produced some signs of a changed tone in Washington. But to my surprise, Roskam told me that he has had no word from anyone in the White House since his overture to Obama.'[117]

David S. Broder: "The snows that obliterated Washington in the past week interfered with many scheduled meetings, but they did not prevent the delivery of one important political message: Take Sarah Palin seriously." "Her lengthy Saturday night keynote address to the National Tea Party Convention in Nashville and her debut on the Sunday morning talk show circuit with Fox News' Chris Wallace showed off a public figure at the top of her game -- a politician who knows who she is and how to sell herself, even with notes on her palm....Those who want to stop her will need more ammunition than deriding her habit of writing on her hand. The lady is good." [119]

Germany, Forced to Buoy Greece, Regrets Shift To Euro The bailout is precisely the financial millstone that opponents warned about when Germany gave up its treasured Deutsche Mark, a move that a majority of the German people, in contrast to their political leaders, opposed. Why are liberals so condescending? Every political community includes some members who insist that their side has all the answers and that their adversaries are idiots. But American liberals, to a degree far surpassing conservatives, are committed to the proposition that their views are correct, self-evident, and based on fact and reason, while conservative positions are not just wrong but illegitimate, ideological and unworthy of serious consideration. Normal people watching Barack Obama's tete-a-tete with the Republicans only wondered why Obama always responds to imaginary arguments no one made, rather than the questions actually being asked. Incumbent Republican Charles Grassley is sitting comfortably ahead of his three leading Democratic challengers in the U.S. Senate race in Iowa. Hypocrisy: A Love Story. It seems so, according to a report by the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research and educational institute focusing on issues in Michigan. Not surprising. Liberals value hypocrisy almost more than dishonesty. [240]

Fact Checking Barack Hussein Obama: Mostly Lies. What Did You Expect, The Truth?

  • Called for a bipartisan fiscal commission. TRUTH: Crashed in the Senate this week, defeated by equal numbers of Democrats and Republicans.
  • Called for open government, "to do our work openly.." TRUTH: Obama skipped past a broken promise from his campaign -- to have the negotiations for health care legislation broadcast on C-SPAN. Nor has Obama lived up to his pledge to ensure legislation is posted online.

Separation of Powers? President Obama Says "What? Me Worry?"
Close to an hour into his address tonight President Obama called out the Supreme Court’s recent decision to remove all limits on what corporations and labor unions can spend on an election. And shockingly, he did it to their faces. The Supreme Court justices sit directly below the President and traditionally do not respond to anything the president says during his speech. Not this time. Obama’s remarks were clearly too much for Justice Alito, who could be been rather emphatically shaking his head, mouthing the words "not true". Even liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had a shocked look on her face, and averted her eyes to the floor. [254] [255]

Canada's National Post has published an interesting assessment of radiative forcing and cataclysmic melting. Though they're not talking the climate science of global warming but of the fiery implosion of the U.N.'s corrupt IPCC agency. [256]

Once again, the clueless Obama talks down to Americans as "you" rather than "we", and as "this nation" rather than "our nation": "The spirit that has sustained this nation for more than two centuries lives on in you, its people."[257] Does Obama think of himself as an American like everyone else?

How the Old Media Deliberately Censored New Media Scoops in 2009

A Media Research Center study of four such stories highlighted by the New Media in 2009 that were damaging to the Obama "brand" found that the news was not only slow in arriving via the MSM, it was fast in disappearing.

Blatant Liberal Lie Of The Month: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Congress’ focus over the past year has “always” been about jobs and deficit reduction. “The jobs issue has permeated everything, [every] major initiative that we have,” Pelosi said at her weekly press briefing Thursday. Pelosi’s lying statement stands in stark contrast to a bleak jobs year that saw unemployment rise to over 10%. [274]
