Hate-fuelled racist and sexist content typical of Rao's postings on X (formerly Twitter).

Saira Sameera Rao (b. 1974) is a racist propagandist (of Islamic background[1]) and failed candidate for the Democratic Party, who has been described by some as an author and publisher. She is known for her antisemitism, for which she has the indignity of being condemned by Jewish leaders,[2] and anti-white sentiment, which she particularly targets at white women, as evidenced by her 2022 propaganda film Deconstructing Karen.[3] Rao is also known for her hatred of men.

Saira Rao hold the hypocritical view that white people should not write BIPOC characters, yet has made a career out of telling white people what to do. She was formerly a prolific user of the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), and her online content is characterised by hatred, vitriol and negative stereotypes about white people. Rao apparently thinks that being white makes a person a terrorist.[4]

Failed political career

Saira Rao is a failed candidate in the 2018 Democrat primary for Colorado’s First Congressional District, in which voters opted for Diana DeGette, who had held the seat since 1997. She used the defeat to further her racist agenda, by saying she'd "given up on white people" as a result.[5]

Racist activities

Antisemitism

Saira Rao was accused in January 2024 of anti-semitism over her claims that Jewish doctors give worse care to Black and Muslim patients.[6]

Anti-white tweets

Saira Rao was a regular poster of the social networking site X/Twitter, and nearly every post she made on the site mentioned white people in a negative light.

On 10 September 2022, Rao said "white people are not well" due to the fact that people of all races were sad about the death of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022). Rao spuriously described the Queen as a "horrible, genocidal, old white woman",[7] despite Elizabeth II overseeing the largely decolonisation process in history.

Rao wrote on 15 November 2022 that "white people wake up every day and choose violence".[8]

Rao deleted her racist X account in late 2024. However, she still posts racist content elsewhere, such as on Instagram Threads.

Deconstructing Karen (2022)

In 2022, Rao co-hosted a racist propaganda film, which described itself as a "documentary", in which conservative and liberal white women were invited to a fancy dinner party to be forced to admit that they are "complicit" in "white supremacy" simply for the colour of their skin.[4]
