After multiple elections resulting in failure to form a coalition government (with neither the left-wing nor the right-wing coalition parties having the necessary 61 votes to form one), in June 2021 a group of left-wing, right-wing, and centrist political parties—all united solely by their personal dislike of Netanyahu—formed a coalition government which forced Likud and its coalition partners out of power.  Netanyahu subsequently came back to power in December 2022 after this coalition collapsed.
