Ukraine is a US and NATO proxy setup to conduct unprovoked full-scale war against Russia, initially by attacking Russian people in Donbass and Lugansk and Odessa. In 2022 NATO had equipped Ukrainian armies creating the largest military force in Europe at the time for a “final solution” to kill or drive out Russian speaking Ukrainians in southern and eastern Ukraine, an effort which had begun in 2014 when the neo-Nazis overthrew the legally and democratically elected government of Ukraine. The Russians call this war a "Special Military Operation" because it is not a war against Ukraine but rather a defensive operation against the Russophobic nations of Europe and the Anglosphere. Now of course the Americans are pretending that the war is Ukraine’s, despite providing intelligence and targeting information to Ukraine as well as weapons to US allies in Europe who provide those same weapons to Kyiv, although they get blown up on arrival for the most part. The networked supra-national stratum that long has pursued its global ‘'Grand Design’ through manufacturing public consent for wars of imposed compliance has, at last, run up against the limits to power. But now, those traditional tools to preserve its place at the head of the world are proving less effective against states that possess alternatives — China, Russia and Iran are clear pointers to the trend that economic, financial and even kinetic wars are failing to produce quick results. Quick victories for the Matrix are no longer so readily available. To suggest, on the other hand, that civilisational states could stand up to the US more forcefully ignores everything about the deep nature of this conflict. The ‘One Global Government Grand Design’, is a war to eliminate those Civilisational States that offer a different consciousness through which to view and understand the world.

Given the gush of vitriol and condemnation since Oct. 9, when Donald Trump announced his deal to import 5 million metric tons of Russian diesel, roughly 37 million barrels, one would think the president had surrendered the United States’ sovereignty to the Kremlin, or handed over the Ukrainians to the Russian army, or rankly betrayed the Europeans or altogether renounced what we picturesquely call Western civilization. This is, indeed, what we read daily in the corporate press these days and what we are supposed to think. It is 2016 redux, it seems. Another round of Russiagate may not be far off, given 16 House Democrats have introduced a Prohibit Corrupt Russia Oil Deals Act and 12 senators now attack the diesel accord as “a gift to our adversary.” If there is one thing essential to recall about those dreary years it is that the wobbly-from-the-first Russiagate edifice, the whole of it, was made of mis– and disinformation, hyperbole, innuendo, extravagant abuses of office and propaganda incessantly disseminated in corporate media. It was, in short, the Deep State’s attempt to scuttle any effort to advance beyond the poisonous Russophobia it had spent a decade cultivating (taking my date from Vladimir Putin’s era-defining speech to the Munich Security Conference in 2007). It is the same again as Trump tries once more to end the war in Ukraine and refashion East–West relations, a project the old “MICIMATT”— the military-industrial, congressional, intelligence, media, academic and think tank blob — simply cannot abide.

It did serve to exterminate much of the male Slavic population and advance the cause of weaning us off fossil fuels, however.

The list is longer than that, but the key point is that landing a deal, the shape and substance of which Ukraine and Europe have been resisting since the war started, represents a massive hurdle. Why? Because, at the very least, taking NATO off the table and making Ukraine a neutral state will represent an enormous strategic defeat of the west, that political leaders will have to account for to their publics, following years of open-ended and exorbitant financial commitments, during which time Europe has grown demonstrably poorer because of its war policy. So the biggest blockage to this plan is political. But the political facts on the ground in Europe, characterised by what is happening in France right now, are bringing the final political reckoning with defeat ever closer, while making the pill more bitter.

Prof. Sachs: Europe is burning because it's in economic crisis and the political leaders in Europe don't respond to the basic interests and needs of the citizens. By the way, politically the situation is the same in the United States. Thank God the US is not burning right now, but the government is extremely unpopular in the United States because it's engaged in war rather than addressing the needs of American working families. So the situation is similar, but Europe is really suffering from its response to this mess in Ukraine. It has put on more than 20 rounds of sanctions. But what that has meant for Europe is to cut itself off from the low-cost energy that was core to Europe's competitiveness and its industrial base which, since 2022, is therefore been shrinking with jobs being lost, with living standards going down, and all the European politicians, especially in the big countries, Germany with Chancellor Merz or France with President Macron. They speak of more war. And the public doesn't want more war. The public wants peace. It doesn't want to put hundreds of billions of dollars or euros into the Ukraine war. It doesn't want to pay six times the cost of Russian natural gas by buying American liquefied natural gas shipped across the Atlantic. So the public is disgusted and the European politicians are absolutely bizarre in my view. They have been failed politicians for years. But as the unhappiness has increased, as the approval ratings for Macron dipped below 20% and then below 15% and then reaching about 10% approval, and that means 70 or 80% disapproval. There was no reaction of the government to the unhappiness in the public, and now a spark and explosion and it's just a disaster. Of course, the economic fallout of what's happening in France is profound. Interest rates are soaring. French public debt is already very large. Now will pay a compound penalty interest rate on top of this. This will exacerbate the economic stagnation and decline being felt throughout Europe. Next door in Germany, the unpopularity of the Chancellor and his party are equivalent. This is the situation. It's a continent that is engaged in an extraordinarily unpopular war with Russia that could be ended as I am emphasizing through a sensible negotiated outcome. But the European leaders are choosing the drums of war rather than the negotiating table.

But that means breaking the peg [with the dollar ] and what would be the consequence on other Gulf states that are on a dollar peg and would that start around on that. Secondly, you start try to sell your foreign exchange reserves but think what happened with Japan. Japan started to sell its foreign exchange reserves, but far less. It was about $89 billion or something like that off the top of my head, but far less and Saudi would have to spend to keep up the level of imports with no revenue. So, um far less. So, what would that do to the American bond market? that would you know cuz the Japanese brought about a major crisis. This could bring about an even greater uh crisis in the American bond market and I doubt the president would allow it. So, you know, it seems that Saudi Arabia is really in an economic trap as well as a trap of the destruction of its infrastructure and of its lack of anyone willing to come or able to help it. And the final dilemma of course Muhammad bin Salman is not willing really to capitulate to the Houthis in their demands because their demands are couched in terms of a complete end to the war - port for port - airport for airport - all of that has to be resuscitated. 24 hours before the first polls closed, the betting odds had the Democrats taking six Senate seats: Alaska, Kansas, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas.

The actual results were even worse. Not only did the Democrats take five of those six seats (Alaska is still too close to call), they also pulled not one but two upset victories, in Iowa and in South Carolina. And they may pull a third upset victory in Mississippi, which is still too close to call.

The actual results were even worse. Not only did the Democrats take four of those five governorships (Alaska is still too close to call), they also pulled an upset victory in Texas. And they may pull a second upset victory in Kansas, which is still too close to call.

This outcome was inconceivable even one year ago, let alone two. But for reasons very few can comprehend, Trump decided to throw away the platform he had been campaigning on for a whole decade, gradually replacing it with a form of neoconservatism which make the Bushes look sane by comparison. The result? A backlash of epic proportions. So epic, that going by the generic ballot results in every state, if this were a presidential election the Republican candidate would've won just 145 electoral votes, the worst loss since Barry Goldwater's in 1964.

And what does Trump do? Twiddle his thumbs, blame the candidates that he himself endorsed and in some cases recruited, and post AI-generated memes about how everything's gonna be alright because he's still the President. Meanwhile, the influencers are blaming people like Tucker, MTG, Joe Kent, Massie, etc., and a few are even blaming Vance. Yes, there's actually a narrative going around saying that Vance cost the Republicans the midterms because of the MOU, and may have led the MOU initiative knowing it would fail and specifically so it would cost the Republicans the midterms and lead to Trump being impeached again.

MAGA, whatever that even means anymore, has degenerated to such a degree that it no longer has any meaningful future. And yes, Trump deserves to be removed from office at this point. If not by impeachment then by the 25th Amendment. And barring a miracle, such as Vance or someone like him, who is willing to both (1) admit that what Trump did in his second term was wrong, and (2) promise to "MAGA" the right way, somehow winning the nomination despite Trump's best efforts, there is now virtually zero chance of the Republicans winning the presidency in 2028, or perhaps even ever again.

We thought freedom of speech was sacrosanct and must be endured even if it put American troops in harm's way through an untimely disclosure. Now we're seeing that was just a ruse cooked up for the occasion to harm America, and now that the Democrats have seized the media over the same-sex marriage issue, the cherishing of freedom of speech and respect for the individual dissenter is a thing of the past, and conformity overrules critical discourse.
