The People's Daily World was an official Communist Party USA newspaper published by the Pacific Publishing Foundation, Inc., San Francisco, California. Branches located in Los Angeles, Oakland, San Diego, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. The executive editor was Al Richmond; assistant editor, Adam Lapin; Los Angeles editor, Sidney Burke; business manager, Harry Kramer; and circulation manager, Leo Baroway. Doug Ward, political editor. Tara Jean Pettit was the agent in Los Angeles.
By 1987 market conditions force the failing newspaper to merge with the Daily Worker until 1991 when a loss of readership made it cutback and became the People's Weekly World, usually referred to as the People's World.
